Took in an A's-Royals tilt this week. Beacuse I'm a masochist. They're filming MONEYBALL at the Oakland Coliseum, with Brad Pitt playing Billy Beane (I think this is covered elsewhere). I purchased a program so as to teach my daughter how to keep score. It's really a magazine (I remember it being a much smaller production when I was her age) with in-depth profiles and feature articles They have profiles of each Athletics player. 28 of them, in fact. And I realize what a unique GM Beane is. While we lament long-term contracts to Castillo, Cora et al, the A's have three players signed past 2010 (Michael Wuertz, Brett Anderson and Kurt Suzuki, who only inked the extension LAST WEEK), with another pair (Coco Crisp and Eric Chavez) bound by club options for 2011. That means virtually the entire roster can be turned over by Opening Day. Damn. In your opinion: good thing or bad?
