    Agreed on the Giants team. If you ever get the chance, listen to their broadcast. Kuiper has the most impressive voice this side of Bob Murphy.

    I like Francouer. Compare his demeanor with K-Rod and you'll see where I'm coming from. On a FOX broadcast a few weeks back (The Nats game where Dickey started?), Niese was asked who takes charge in the clubhouse, "getting after people,etc"...without a moment's hesitation, he said Jeff F. I thought for sure he'd go for Wright or Tatis, or maybe a veteran newcomer like Bay or Barajas. At the risk of sounding like Kevin Millar, Frenchy's a gamer.

Phils get: Cliff Lee Mets get: Jayson Werth Mariners get: Three useless Mets prospects kind of like Frenchy, Sucky, and Hearing-impairedy. Why it works: Ooh, a three way. Phils get pitching. Mariners get prospects. Mets get offense. Also, this is the perfect way to sabotage the Mets as Werth can start sleeping with David Wright's...or Jose Reyes'...or, aww crap, they're all gay. This won't work.

    The DocTees will welcome Carlos back from the DL and the Mets back from the ASG on Thursday in San Francisco. It's Girl Scouts Night at AT&T Park, so my wife and kids will stroll the warning track pre-game with their troop. Wifey and my eldest will sport Mets colors; my youngest has been told to follow suit or be left in the stadium.

Recently returned from a conference on US-Canadian relations, where one presenter mentioned that the only way to tell the difference between us and them is to make this statement: There is no difference between Americans and Canadians. Apparently, we shrug it off, while our northern neighbors will spout off for hours. Who is/was your favorite Canadian baseball player? Justin Morneau Least favorite?     Giants hand starting catcher job to Buster Posey, ship Benji Molina to Texas for reliever Chris Ray. Sabean must be regretting the deal he handed that fat bastard this winter. Texas now has a surfeit of catchers--Teagarden, Saltalamacchia, and two others who have been on the big-league roster this year. Could portend a deal for Cliff Lee?
