  1. If they're going to skip Marcum, why not DL him? This is what used to drive me nuts in the Omar/Willie/Jerry days; they'd insist on playing with a 23- or 24-man roster for long stretches. Hopefully Sandy sees the need and fills it.
  2. Presumably, he didn't think his obvious unconfortable gestures on the mound and in the dugout would draw any notice of people who get paid to write about the team. They were probably too busy snickering at his inability to use spellcheck or rudimentary grammar skills. Or so you'd think.
  3. "My arm isn't sore, it's just a little stiff." -Steve Barber in Ball Four

  5. One thing would be certain: Balkin' Bob Davidson would have an aneurysm.
  6. Glad that Wheeler could navigate through 5, but whenever the Mets get into a battle of the bullpens, it's problematic.
  7. What are Valdespin's numbers pre- and post-pie?
  8. Boy at camp shows girl his log, makes her gasp.
  9. Why does Brandon Lyon have a job again?
  10. Jan meets an inordinate amount of stupid people, then sells them Toyotas without ever leaving her receptionist desk.
  11. I gave it a 'Giants'. It was okay, but they could have done a lot more. I took my 17-year-old to see it. He knew the basics of the story anyway, but at the end I told him that whatever they showed on the screen, what he had to endure in real life was a lot worse.
  12. As a big fan, I was ready to hate this movie. But they turned the whole Wrath of Khan thing on its head with the alternate timeline, and I loved it. You want awesome Spock acting, here it is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WPkByAkAdZs#at=14
  13. I'm tired of Brandon Lyon. Nibble, nibble, nibble off the plate, then get behind and have to groove one. DFA his ass.
  14. OK Matt, put the hammer down. Treat them like they were the WB Mason kids.
  15. You need look no further than the 2006 Cardinals to see a mediocre team that got hot at the right time. If we somehow have another 2 good weeks we are in this thing ready or not. Every time I think that, they either a) have 1 1/2 good weeks and then tank, or tank immediately. I've seen this movie before.
  16. That bullpen cart honestly looks a little creepy, like a funhouse nightmare sort of thing. I think it's the eyes.
  17. Wow. Imagine the songs you could write if they were actually good.
  18. Megdal seems to forget that other people have The Google too.
  19. What's more impressive is that the MARLINS have played .500 ball.
  20. Is that Zach Wheeler as Robin? Even in the Mattmobile he's tipping his pitches.
  21. Zvon wrote: Edgy MD wrote: Who else noticed Garth's pal Wayne behind home plate the whole game? The guy with the thick neck and headphones, singing all game? There was something wrong w/that guy. Um, he was blind.
  22. You know, for the first time in what seems like forever I'm not holding my breath when the closer comes in. I'd like to hang on to that feeling for at least a little longer. I'd have to be bowled over to deal him and I don't think that's going to happen.
