  1. Badness is how it was most of the time. Smile is how it was occasionally. I went with optimism. Plus, hey, bikinis.
  2. =Centerfield post_id=1546 time=1548183034 user_id=65] Amazingly, Cabrera will only be playing in his age 33 season. He certainly seems older than that. In fact, I thought his best days were behind him when the Mets signed him the first time.
  3. This will always be my favorite memory of Wilmer https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UmL4rNYmJ9Uhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UmL4rNYmJ9U Thought from day 1 that he would become a 30 HR lineup staple. Doesn't matter - i still love him. Still gives me chills. I hope he has a fantastic year against everyone but the Mets.
  4. Texas is looking for a third baseman, but I don't want Choo in return. I wish this team could get younger instead of older.
  5. Edgy MD wrote: Once upon a time, "former Miss Universe" might have meant, "Wow, she must be really attractive." Now it means, "Ugh, she probably knows the president." I am TOTALLY stealing that line.
  6. Scratching my head a bit, waiting for other dominoes to fall.
  7. =batmagadanleadoff post_id=657 time=1546741284 user_id=68] I've had it up to here already with Lagares this and Lagares that. The guy was made irrelevant as soon as Cespedes was acquired and went Babe Ruth nuts four seasons ago. Four seasons ago, ferchrissakes! On hitting alone, Lagares doesn't even deserve to be in the major leagues, let alone playing for the team in the world's biggest market. But let's write another million posts about this guy so we can reminisce about the great catches he used to make back in the Hoover administration. You think the Dodgers or the Yankees would've kept this guy around for the last four seasons?
  8. Given how the Mets operate, Minaya saying he doesn't expect much from Cespedes this season is basically saying 'you'll see him in 2020'.
  9. =whippoorwill post_id=112 time=1546036594 user_id=79] I see by the rules we are not allowed to badmouth the government. Alas!
  10. Just noticed that damned dot is gone.
  11. =Fman99 post_id=198 time=1546166071 user_id=86] Kill the rotunda, redo it with Mets stuff. I hate that big 42. I respect the man and what he did for baseball but it has nothing to do with the Mets and it's front and center when you enter the park.
  12. Someone needs to save that Jeff Wilpon in History thread at all costs.
  13. Hm. Not a whole lot of depth. TJ's not really an outfielder and Blanco/Davis/Lee are cannon fodder. If Tebow sees more than a few ML at bats, there's Trouble in River City. How far away is Lindsay?
  14. Hope he enjoys his summer in Syracuse. Brodie continues implementing his full employment plan for former clients.
  15. If healthy, Murph's gonna tear it up in Colorado. He'll have 50 doubles easy.
  16. Words one never wants to hear: "TMZ on line one...."
  17. Brodie being Brodie, I guess.
  18. Che Guevara's spinning in his grave.
  19. Well, that escalated quickly. Didn't expect the turn that took.
  20. Pollock is great when he's healthy. But he's never healthy. We've already got one of those in Cespedes. Pass.
  21. Much better than trading good players. Now keep working, BVW.
  22. Burkhardt grew on me eventually. Gelbs has not. He's a doofus. And those interviews he has with random people/celebrities/old ballplayers/family members of the rookie on the mound are excruciating. Channel-changing stuff.
  23. Well, #6 is Seth Lugo, and #7 is Robert Gsellman. So there's some depth, but not really any help from the minors.
