Not so well and Gee returns to the rotation and the big guy to Las Vegas for a bit. I think. Anything less than a no-hitter, and Syndergaard is sent down. 3 more weeks in the minors = another year before arbitration kicks in. The accountants dictate the baseball moves with this team.
  3. just when you think you've seen everything. that's why I love baseball....

They did have a group that called themselves the scum bunch....
  5. Dear Wayne Garrett, The perm was a bad idea. Love, Edgy Looks like a porn star... I have a couple of copies of that Agee card from when I was kid. Even then, it struck me just how sad he looked, as if he was thinking, "How did I lose it all?"

  7. ok - I just peeked - I never would have guessed the last one...

It's why Goeddel got the 8th inning after Buddy's final out in the 7th. Apparently, on this team anyway, hamstring problems lead to back problems. Makes me wonder if it was a sciatic problem that Carlyle thought was a hamstring problem...

I'd be mightily surprised if he can even spell "1981". And I'd lay 1000-1 odds against him ever hearing about Tim Leary, either the pitcher or the drug experimenter. So no, I don't think he's thinking about April 12, 1981. Considering that was about 2 months before my high school graduation, I'm pretty sure I can spell 1981... I know you can. I have reasonable doubts whether Syndergaard can. OK. Now I see what was going on and who "he" was. You're "he". My bad. I think we should throw the blame on Edgy - he started a second page, and didn't quote what he was referencing, so that probably confused everyone.

  15. Edgy MD wrote: I'd like to see a game where the Mets attempt about 10 bunt hits. It would be the only way to stop the shift once and for all...
  16. Yeah, but how many times has Dilson's helmet gone flying during a swing and a miss? Just for the entertainment factor alone, Bartolo wins this in a walk.
  17. I like that he has changed his approach since he was moved into the lead-off spot. That bunt against that ridiculous shift was a beautiful thing to see.
  18. It surprises that Dykstra looks like a butthead?

  22. Saw this last night, and I must admit to being underwhelmed. With all of the Easter Eggs (Hugin and Mugin, et al), the care with how he morphed from scene to scene, the first Avengers movie was basically a love letter from Joss Whedon to the Marvel Universe. This latest installment was just typical dumbed down action fare. That's not to say I didn't enjoy it. There were plenty of laughs and action, but I left the theater thinking, "That was it?" A forced romance a la "Beauty and The Beast" and action sequences that relied on subpar CGI (The CGI in the first 3 years ago was so much better) are just two of the things that stand out tat make this movie suffer in comparison its predecessor.
