Rubin has been posting images from Binghamton tonight. I guess he doesn't believe in days off.

According to Adam Rubin: Binghamton's Seth Lugo named Eastern League Pitcher of Week and Savannah's John Mora named South Atlantic League Player of Week. Binghamton Mets - Seth Lugo by David G. Whitham, on Flickr

MFS62 wrote: Fifteen million dollars won't help the Mets get financial flexibility to acquire a ballplayer? Even if that is more than what remains on the contract of a player who could become a free agent at the end of the year? Earth to Sandy. Fifteen million dollars is more than half a year's salary for (probably) every player in the majors. You can always tell a Marine. You just can't teach them too much. Later That $15mil has already been sent to the creditors.

Won't be from me, give him Coach Cuddy's locker! It won't be from me, either!

Oh please. It's a distraction for the trade deadline, nothing more. I don't blame Anderson in this. I think he has his marching orders, and like a good Marine, he's taking a bullet for ownership.

Edgy MD wrote: Such lazy batboys they have in New Britain. It's funny that you noticed that. There was a definite sense last night that the Rock Cats are just going through the motions since they are moving to a new stadium in Hartford next season. I have never seen such a sparse crowd in New Britain, and at least half the fans were wearing Mets regalia.

DGW, may I use these photos for my project? I had no plans on a Conforto card but these pictures are great. They are calling to me..~make me a card~. Sure - I can't wait to see what you come up with :-)

Conforto went 1-3 tonight in New Britain, with a 2b, RBI and run scored. He hit two other bombs that the CF made running catches on - even his outs were hammered. ...and he signed autographs before the game...

Frayed Knot wrote: The Mets have canned departing managers owing them money, often for multiple years, virtually every time they made a change. They may or may not make a decision to jettison Terry but that decision isn't going to hinge on balking at paying him 1/2 a season's salary. Since The Madoff scheme blew up on them?

Edgy MD wrote: Managers are cheap. Interims cheaper. There's a lot of good and bad reasons not to fire him, but I don't think it's deep pockets. I think he should be fired, because I think he's lost this team. I think he won't be fired mainly due to the extra cost involved, no matter how relatively cheap it may be.

Terry isn't going anywhere until the season is over. They won't pay for a second manager.

I still wince when I see The franchise in that uniform.
