  1. 24 runs scored by the Nats in this series [7, 9, 8] 11 of them came with two outs.
  2. Consecutive two HR days by our 2nd & 3rd hitters and yet ... going 0-2 in those games?
  3. A bit of a rough start for the kid but finished on a upswing and keeps his ERA below double digit territory* thanks to getting an inning ending out on a Benge-to-Senger throw out of a runner. * 4 ER/4-1/3 IP = 8.31
  4. Nats don't have an outfielder tall enough to rob that one!
  5. 1,308 -- Zach Thornton
  6. Long night last night (and a bit of a rough one for Luis), day game tomorrow, and probably more familiarity between Senger and Thornton.
  7. So we're told Thornton doesn't give up walks or HRs. Oooops
  8. I always conflated him with Emily Litella, but that speaks to a whole 'nother set of issues.
  9. DC forecast for 6:45 game: 6 PM - Scattered Thunderstorms 7 PM - Thunderstorms 8 PM - Heavy Thunderstorms 9 PM - Rain 100% 10 PM - Rain 100% All that early stuff can always be hit or miss, but 9:00 and later looks pretty problematic.
  10. Nah! We don't do that for mere disagreements. In fact 'We' (meaning us longtime CPF'ers) don't even run this show these days so couldn't even if we wanted to. I just figured you got mad and left but was wondering how you managed to take all your posts with you. There was one guy who did that many moons ago: he's the Avi referred to in my opening post here. He arrived one day (on a forum that preceded the CPF) and managed to make himself very unpopular in a short time (which was more the fault of the haters than him IMO, but whatever). So he shortly just up and left but in doing so he first decided to manually erase every post he had written (far fewer than you) in an apparent effort to disguise the fact that he had ever been there. Didn't quite work though as, unlike in your case, the 'boxes' where his posts had been still existed and still listed 'Avi' as the author but with the contents all erased save for an ellipsis [...] in each which he put there only because the software required that there be something in each post. To this day when some here change their mind on a post just written they'll place an 'Avi wuz here' note on an otherwise blank post (plus the ellipsis of course) or will refer to a deleted post as one that had been Avi'ed. And this all happened back during the latter days of the Clinton administration, but we tend to hang onto stuff around here.
  11. Both Christian Scott and Nolan McLean have had trouble throwing enough strikes lately. Let's hope Thorton isn't even wilder. I know, that was a long way to go for a very mediocre joke, especially coming right on the heels of 'bulk reliever'
  12. Taylor simply didn't see the ball deflect behind him off Morabito's glove. And, even if he did and reacted to it immediately, that's still, at best, a three-run triple rather than a GS so small potatoes in the grand scheme of things. Semien's E (should have been two) turned an inning-ending GiDP into a shit show, and Torrens (several occasions) were the much bigger culprits defensively.
  13. 3B Kaz Okamoto to the plate: strike one, strike two, ball one [SB so now 2nd & 3rd], Grounds out to 3rd and the Yanx win
  14. Yanx/Jays in a similar position as yesterday: Yanx up by two (5-3), top 9th and the Jays get the first two on with Springer then Vladdy up. But tonight it's Camilio Doval in for the save. G Springer lines if off the pitcher's glove but is thrown out at 1st (now 2nd & 3rd) one out. Vladdy: a long Sac Fly gets a run in but now the Jays are down to their final out lefty swinging Daulton Varsho to the plate: and an infield single makes it 1st & 3rd as Doval is late covering
  15. I'm starting to doubt the likelihood of a comeback tonight.
  16. Boy are we behind here.
  17. Gotta love it when an outfielder leaps for a ball that's like 17 feet over the fence.
  18. This Brad Lord guy has only pitched for the Nats in his career. And I think it's clear that he'll never be a Royal.
  19. Yes. Hiding behind "Twitter says" as if the ability to discern a majority opinion is possible even when one isn't merely searching for confirmation bias.
  20. I would think your primary concern is to discover why just one person's posts (at least as far as I can tell) disappeared but no one else's. iow, did he cause it somehow, intentionally or otherwise?
  21. Circus clown stuff aside, those were some atrocious scoring decisions. It's got to be two errors on Semien: one for not getting an out on a ball hit right to him (the muff), and another for allowing both runners to advance (the throw). And then how is that an error on Bichette? His throw hit Torrens in the glove?!?!?!!
  22. Puma adds further detail: And, yes, it seems Howie was a big part of this. As if you can't always find a reason why it isn't the right time.
  23. https://www.baseball-reference.com/register/player.fcgi?id=morabi001joh Nick Morabito's uncle
