  1. 43 thru 4 ... who is this guy and what did he do with Christian Scott?
  2. Now it's 31 pitches in three innings (hell, 45 would be considered good) for Crash Christian. Beats the hell out of the 89 in 3-2/3 he threw in his last start (MIL)
  3. Scott - two innings = 20 pitches Sale - one inning = 22 Didn't have that one on my dance card.
  4. And tell them you'll take yours down whenever they get around to putting theirs up.
  5. #4 -- Mike Nickeas
  6. It's only 3:30 PM EDT and already TWO six-run leads have been blown. - Phils were up 6-0 by the top of the 5th but lost the game to the Marlins 8 - 6 - and the 'Do we hold or do we sell?' Tigers led 7 - 0 after six but are now batting in bottom 7th tied 7 - 7 with the O's
  7. Now here's a situation which might call for the unofficial 'no two innings' rule for relievers. Maybe they'd rather use weaver for two innings now rather than have Brazoban, Weaver, AND Williams all pitch in Game one which likely makes all NOT available for the nightcap. oe: ... and as I type this Williams in warning up in the pen, so ignore everything I said above
  8. It also got out there in a hurry. My first instinct was 'two runs' also, but I couldn't see where Lindor was when the ball was being fetched off the wall.
  9. Actually it was a one RBI double. Lindor held at 3rd. Both Bichette and Benge got on top of pitches from 0000 that were several inches north of the zone. Both hit 'em hard but Benge's got further towards the corner.
  10. In a tribute to the late Gilbert Gottfried, AJ Smith-Shawver is from the land of the three-named pitchers. And Sean Reid-Foley was there, and Van Lingle Mungo ...
  11. That the deadline is still five days away.
  12. Forecast for Corona, Queens (not Corona, CA, Gary) 1:00 - Mostly cloudy, 76. Showers possible (40 - 50%) starting around 3 PM 7:00 - Possible T-Storms, then partly to mostly cloudy, mid-70s
  13. Leftover news from Monday night: Max Scherzer came off the IL to pitch against the Nats in Washington. Got a big hand in a game the Blue Jays eventually won 3 - 2 although Max was gone by that point [2.2 IP, 1 R, 4 H] and didn't figure in the decision. Curtis Mead, the RH bat Boston acquired from the Nats, got hit by a pitch just one day and two ABs into the Red Sox career and is now on the IL with a broken wrist. From tonight: Marlins 1 - Phillies 0 is your phinal.
  14. It certainly threatens to mess with our (2 game) winning streak momentum.
  15. If their's is the best offer? .. Sure!
  16. Mead was hit by a pitch in his second AB for the Red Sox and the result was a broken wrist. Something here about the best laid plans of hominids and rodents, etc.
  17. Didn't know Sal had a Japanese cousin.
  18. Based on a half season the answer should be keep Ewing ... but full-season choices are often wrong and smaller samples even more so.
  19. Why does it have to be identified as a Black squirrel, as if plenty of white, gray, and orange squirrels haven't interrupted games also? Let's keep race out of this, mmm-Kay?
  20. Except that, keep in mind, it was done at least partly to get out from under the lengthier contract. Semien's deal ends in 2028 vs Nimmo in 2030.
  21. I'm starting to feel good about this game.
