  1. So given that Denver forecast, the logical question is to ask who thought it was a good idea to schedule night games on Saturdays in April?
  2. Yeah, there was NOTHING honest about Madoff. He wasn't in the investment business, he was in the fraud business, first, last, and only. His lone purpose in life was to build trust with people so as to cheat them out of their money for his personal enrichment. And I'm not sure who the "us" is who are the victims of your typical investment manager.
  3. Peterson has a much better beard than Wheeler. He should get the Win on that basis alone.
  4. =batmagadanleadoff post_id=60880 time=1618433147 user_id=68] If they're going to experiment with a 61.5" mound, then the game isn't right, as far as the powers that be are concerned.
  5. =batmagadanleadoff post_id=60872 time=1618431148 user_id=68] ... But what about pitchers who've been throwing off a regulation mound all their lives? How are they supposed to adjust?
  6. Bo Bichette's 2nd HR of the day walks-off the Yanx thus moving the Bombers, however temporarily, into last place in the AL East.
  7. Peter Edward Rose Sr. turns 80 today.
  8. The rule was (hastily) put in because, unlike last season,, pitchers have to hit this year (at least in the real league) but they apparently need to be treated as fine China and can't possibly be expected to run the bases. So when the Mets double-switched the pitcher into the final out batting slot, the 'Manfred Man' (automatic runner) became the previous out which was Lindor. As I said earlier, it was a brilliant piece of strategy by Luis if intentional although I have my doubts as to whether it was.
  9. Braves (vs Marlins) and Nats (StL) have both coughed up 14 tonight. So we pick up 1.5 on each of them, 0.5 on the Fish, and 2 full games on the Phightins (assuming JF can close this one out). And the Yanx got their ass kicked ... so that's like quintuple happiness!
  10. You can't stop Tomas Nido you can only hope to contain him.
  11. It's like Andy Warhol once said, 'In the future everyone will have a podcast for 15 minutes '
  12. At some point MLBN needs to arrange for former BoSox star and current studio guy Kevin Millar to come to CitiField and interview Villar and Pillar
  13. Here we have another 'coin flip' call. Let's see how they rule it.
  14. Johnny Lunchbucket wrote: I figured we'd get Howie in Game 2, but it's more Ed. Howie dealing with a "personal medical issue" per Gary. Will be out a few days.
  15. So Lindor finally gets an XBH and it comes in seemingly the only AB where Nimmo Didn't walk leading off the game!
  16. Yeah, although if a hurler starting to lose his control gives up a run or two in the 5th or 6th you've got less time to make up for that. Best to get a fresh guy in before it's too late ... or something along those lines. oe: answering Willets
  17. Willets Point wrote: What was the reason for pulling Walker early? Walked the # 8 & 9 hitters back to back. Plus, the 5th inning is now like the 7th inning strategy-wise in these shortened games.
  18. Johnny Lunchbucket wrote: I didn't realize that by double switching a guy out of the game they go backwards in the lineup. Dumb and dumbest. Anyway, I hate the Mets but hooray Smart thinking if Luis pre-thought of that scenario. Possibly also just dumb luck.
  19. I was just about to tell Conforto to take the next THREE pitches (after starting 3-0)
  20. =kcmets post_id=60708 time=1618354903 user_id=53] =Gwreck post_id=60706 time=1618354314 user_id=56] They can't even wait until the 10th for this awful rule? This is an abomination.
  21. So y'know what I said to myself after that passed ball? --- Oh great, now another shit infield hit will beat us.
  22. Even the lone out which sort of left the infield was too piss poor to do anything.
  23. C'mon Frankie L., become a "True Met" right here.
  24. As Gary just said, Jed Lowrie has played more games than the Mets this season.
