  1. Meanwhile, in The Bronx:
  2. The WSH game was stopped for the evening b/c of a shooting outside the ballpark. Two of the SD players went into the stands and took their families into the Clubhouse. There was a delay and then after the "all-clear", the game was stopped for the night.
  3. It's a 3-headset inning! Check with Elias on the record.
  4. It's a double headset play! Fantastic!!! Go kick out that idiot. Or someone from The 7 Line should rough him up.
  5. Edgy MD wrote: Gary Thorne is part of my Mets history and part of my modest Orioles history, but man, he's blowing calls all over the place. He was, very interestingly, discussing earlier how broadcasters are doing such a good job calling games off of monitors that teams are possibly reluctant to put them back on the road. But went unspoken was what a poor example he was of this. Did he work for the O's in 2020? I'm thinking that this is the first time that he's called games off a monitor.
  6. =bmfc1 post_id=71611 time=1626564916 user_id=73] Maybe the answer to 3B is JDD. Let's hope so.
  7. =Fman99 post_id=71627 time=1626566589 user_id=86] Christ, 0 for their last 16 with RISP, between yesterday and today. Tough to win that way
  8. I love Pete, all right-thinking NYkers love Pete, but tonight: 1st inning: 5 straight balls, yet he swings and hits a lame flyout. I know it's easy for us and he's Pete and knows his zone but take a pitch until the guy shows that he can throw a strike, right? 3d inning: now you can hit that flyball... except he feels the weight of the lineup on his shoulders so he chases and hits in that innings' DP.
  9. Edgy MD wrote: Hoping not to see the Mets hit into nine DPs today. 3 out of 3 innings. It's painful.
  10. =Fman99 post_id=71615 time=1626565213 user_id=86] Fuck WPIX games. Have to stream this over dubious illegal internet streams. Stuck with the Pittsburgh broadcasters.
  11. Maybe the answer to 3B is JDD. Let's hope so. Meanwhile, should we be concerned about Dom AGAIN?
  12. Or, hear me out... they want to make sure that Jake stays healthy by not letting him pitch!
  13. To steal from Stefon on SNL, that Mets loss had everything (note: with a win, everything is tolerable): They lost. They lost to a much worse team. It was boring. It was long. There were many pitching changes (some of these overlap). There was a rain delay. A Met got hurt. There was a fight which the other team started and it fired them up but not the Mets. The Mets did nothing to get back at the player that started the fight (specifically, it was their #69 who was not nice). Luis did something stupid (I don't remember anything specific but I'm sure that he did, let's go with using Familia). The HP ump sucked (did he get a commission for every TO he granted?).
  14. Maybe Stroman was extra happy after Nogowski called timeout after timeout. That's on the flaccid HP umpire for granting it but perhaps Stroman was pissed at the batter.
  15. 1st and 2d, nobody out and a pitcher that can't find the strike zone. 5 days off and the Mets are still just as dangerous.
  16. Edgy MD wrote: Hard to believe the Mets haven't scored yet. The Pirates may be making a Kuhl change pretty soon. Lindor sold the Mets down the Little River.
  17. Howie is away and Sir Sleepy, Ed Coleman, joins Wayne on the radio side.
  18. It's been quite a year for Ex-Met property Deivy Grullon who was traded today. Check out his transactions from 2021 alone: https://www.mlb.com/player/deivy-grullon-620453https://www.mlb.com/player/deivy-grullon-620453
  19. Maybe that's why Gary scheduled his days off for this weekend... before he knew he'd still be calling the games from Queens. I think that Howie is off this weekend, too. It will not be Gary Cohen doing play-by-play and PRAISE WHOMEVER! it won't be Gary Apple... it will be Gary Thorne: https://metsmerizedonline.com/2021/07/report-gary-thorne-returns-to-mets-booth-this-weekend.html/https://metsmerizedonline.com/2021/07/report-gary-thorne-returns-to-mets-booth-this-weekend.html/
  20. Let's hope that the weather holds up: https://weather.com/weather/tenday/l/USPA1290:1:UShttps://weather.com/weather/tenday/l/USPA1290:1:US
  21. Maybe it's not such a secret: https://twitter.com/martinonyc/status/1415798840054194179
  22. There was one game scheduled for tonight and it won't be played. As far as being against the law, thank you but that wasn't the point. Martino knows so others know. I want to know who is acting against my team's best interests. https://twitter.com/MarlyRiveraESPN/status/1415790274073272330
  23. Tonight's BOS-MFY game has been postponed b/c of Covid issues on the MFYs, who haven't hit the 85% mark (like the Mets). Per Martino, not even winning the pennant will sway some of the Mets from taking the vaccine: https://www.sny.tv/articles/delta-variant-risk-mets-vaccination-efforts-playershttps://www.sny.tv/articles/delta-variant-risk-mets-vaccination-efforts-players Maybe it's time to name them. Let them explain to the fans why they think that they know more than the Doctors and are willing to put the team's pennant chances in jeopardy as well as the health of their teammates, their families, the team's staff and, employees.
  24. His wife, a former Survivor, would be a good presence in the "Wifey" thread.
