    FK: I could rebut, refute, and this would continue ad nauseam but there's too much venom in the CPF. I'd rather get mad at Lindor than continue this as it's akin to yelling at clouds so I will step back.

    Please explain how shaving :30 seconds/half-inning won't help solve the problem. Even it's "not really the problem" and the problem(s) "obviously lie elsewhere", it can and should be part of the solution.

    I hate taking out Megill after a groundball base hit. I get it and it worked out but I'd like to have seen him get one more batter.

    Lindor doesn't like the boos, who does?, but perhaps a big hit while the game is in the balance would be nice.

    All of these are simple solutions, even if they require some chatter with the Union. The same with losing :30 seconds of commercial time per half inning (less revenue has to be made up elsewhere but it can be done and I fully expect "BET MGM" patches in a year or two). That's why I don't take any of the phony solutions to game length seriously such as 7 inning games.

    SWAP MEET! I hope the fact that the below .500 WSH now have 3 All-Stars while the 1st Place Mets still have just one is "bulletin board material" in the Mets clubhouse (other than Stroman and Diaz, no one else is deserving but let this fire them up as needed).     Re: FK's #2... no adjustment period is needed between the BP mound and the game mound because each is pristine. This is a leftover from the olden days when the RP's warmed up on a mound in a cow pasture, or something akin to it. A pitching change is an excuse for a full TV TO but it should be 3 or 4 pitches, let's go, keep it moving.

    For what it's worth, Jon Heyman said that the Mets are interested in Adam Frazier. He's a 2B so if that's accurate, maybe they plan on moving McNeil to 3B and dealing JD and/or Villar.

    WSH lost that game 9 to 8 despite leading 8-0. So sad. What a pitching matchup... not! Darvish: 6 ER in 3 IP, Scherzer: 7 ER in 3 2/3 IP. The game took 3:40. The one or two WSH fans that understand the game might be upset that Manager Martinez used Sam Clay in the 9th with the game tied rather than Brad Hand, his closer. I thought that you don't save your closer for extra innings on the road if the game is tied.

    Another rainout for Syracuse which means another game that JD Davis didn't play. Tuesday, he walked 3 times. Wednesday, he struck out 3 times so he hasn't put a ball in play since Sunday which means more time in the minors.

    There's your answer to who gets sent down if JD ever returns. Peraza is out of options, Luis is not. Peraza has had big hits, Luis has not (right, Edgy?).

    2d and 3d, 1 out and no runs. McNeil needs to get his head out of his ass quick or JD can play 3B and Villar can move to 2B while McNeil goes and does what he really loves--play golf. Edit: That was mean, I'm sure he loves baseball but hit a frigging fly ball.

    It's interesting that Nimmo returns from SYR and rakes while McNeil and Conforto are taking longer and Villar looks clueless.

    "Day games benefit attendees, not tv watchers", allow more children to attend which is good for the future of the game, allow more families to watch or go as a family unit which is also good for the future of the game, allows more people to enjoy a game without as many drunk fans... but if a team owner also owns a RSN he wants eyeballs on his channel so that supersedes anything else.
