  2. =Fman99 post_id=72612 time=1627336486 user_id=86] (XM radio commercial) Obnoxious go getters drive Nissan Rogue to events not of importance or interest to me.
  3. If Matt Harvey wasn't MATT HARVEY he'd be a Met this week. BAL doesn't need him this year or next and he's pitched well in his last two starts, including last night v. WSH (6 IP, 0 ER, 1 H). https://www.mlb.com/player/matt-harvey-518774https://www.mlb.com/player/matt-harvey-518774 Meanwhile, WSH was supposed to have an easy series against BAL and a chance to get back into the race... but BAL swept them in a 3-game series including almost-Met Brad Hand blowing the save and the game today. So sad.
  4. I'm a little concerned w/Hill having faced TOR just 2 weeks ago but I'm sure that the Mets took that into account when deciding whether to pitch him today instead of tomorrow.
  5. It's Saturday Night and the Mets go for their 2d straight against Toronto. It won't be easy as Ryu is very good but so is Walker. https://www.mlb.com/gameday/blue-jays-vs-mets/2021/07/24/633272#game_state=preview,lock_state=preview,game_tab=,game=633272https://www.mlb.com/gameday/blue-jays-vs-mets/2021/07/24/633272#game_state=preview,lock_state=preview,game_tab=,game=633272 Weather: https://www.rotowire.com/baseball/weather.phphttps://www.rotowire.com/baseball/weather.php Odds: https://www.sportsline.com/mlb/game-forecast/MLB_20210724_TOR@NYM/https://www.sportsline.com/mlb/game-forecast/MLB_20210724_TOR@NYM/ Lineups: Blue Jays: 1. 6. Fantastic game... and only 2:33!
  7. Edgy MD wrote: Guy is as big as Herman Munster and they're pulling him after 78 pitches. I think Rojas may be managing for that Atlanta series. He's using at least one RP that he can avoid using by giving Tylor another inning. Lugo/May/Diaz--sounds good but two of three are coming off bad outings. Why not let the kid start the 7th?
  8. I'll pose the same question that Ken Tremendous (otherwise known as the brilliant Michael Schur) posed on Twitter: "Least favorite player on your favorite MLB team's rival team?" It's up to you who the Mets' biggest rival is. It can be STL (a satisfying number of replies on Twitter listed Molina), MFY, PHI, ATL, WSH... your call. There are no wrong answers. https://twitter.com/KenTremendous/status/1418733338488016897 I'll start: Ryan Zimmerman. He doesn't seem like a bad guy but he exists and David Wright doesn't. They were pals in Virginia Beach--when either reached 3B you could see the other find an excuse to clean the area between where he was standing and the base so they could gab--but David couldn't overcome his injuries and Zimmerman is still playing so I resent him every time he plays. And he lasted long enough to get a Ring.
  9. I saw him hit for the cycle during a Spring Training game in Jupiter in 2019. It wasn't televised so there is no video but I saw it and became a fan that day. I hope that the Mets can get him back someday.
  10. They didn't change the last 5 letters.
  11. No McNeil who has a left leg that is "fatigued" (remember that he left Wednesday's game early). I thought that Pillar might get a start against a LHP.
  12. He last pitched on Monday so he could pitch as early as Saturday. Walker is set for Saturday while Sunday is "TBD". However, he faced TOR just 2 weeks ago so I wonder if they'll hold him back for one of the games against ATL on Monday, which are both "TBD". https://www.espn.com/mlb/player/gamelog/_/id/6321https://www.espn.com/mlb/player/gamelog/_/id/6321
  13. =MFS62 post_id=72338 time=1627058976 user_id=60] Like Seawolf, I want to see who the AA player is. They have at least two of their top 10 prospects at Binghamton. Later
  14. Excellent, Fman99. I was thinking of this brilliant line:
  15. Rich Hill, that is. He was scheduled to start for TB on Saturday so he can now take the open Sunday spot. https://www.mlb.com/player/rich-hill-448179https://www.mlb.com/player/rich-hill-448179
  16. Yermin was with the team last night so he didn't go anywhere.
  17. I thought it might be "Spiders". "Guardians" sounds like an insurance company but it's strong, the logo is good, and if Tom Hanks likes it so who are we to object?

  19. The NFL got this right (the player's union is weaker than in MLB) but I wish that MLB could have done this, starting with the 3 game opening series in WSH which forced the Mets to make an extra trip to DC and then play 2 doubleheaders when WSH couldn't keep it in their pants (figuratively). https://nypost.com/2021/07/22/nfl-right-to-use-forfeit-threat-if-unvaccinated-players-cause-covid-outbreak/https://nypost.com/2021/07/22/nfl-right-to-use-forfeit-threat-if-unvaccinated-players-cause-covid-outbreak/
  20. Did you see the BS in ATL last night? They had to play a doubleheader because of rainout this week but SD has a game in MIA on Thursday. ATL was so desperate to split the doubleheader that they tried to squeeze in both games within the time-limits allowed by the Union... except that it didn't rain in the 2 hours between games and it did rain in the 5th inning of the 2d game with SD up 4 to 3. The teams sat around for 3 hours and the game was suspended as ATL didn't get to bat in the 5th and they were losing. SD plays tonight and doesn't return so the rest of the game will have to be played on September 24 in SD if Atlanta says OK. None of this would have happened if Manfred prevented teams from having split doubleheaders this season. https://www.mlb.com/gameday/padres-vs-braves/2021/07/21/633224#game_state=live,game_tab=,game=633224https://www.mlb.com/gameday/padres-vs-braves/2021/07/21/633224#game_state=live,game_tab=,game=633224
  21. Is this the World Series? No (not yet?), it's inter-league play as the Blue Jays come to Queens as the Mets start an 11-game homestand. Tylor Megill goes for the Mets and Steven Matz (LHP, but you knew that) goes for Toronto. Cue the tribute video! https://www.mlb.com/gameday/blue-jays-vs-mets/2021/07/23/633221#game_state=preview,lock_state=preview,game_tab=,game=633221https://www.mlb.com/gameday/blue-jays-vs-mets/2021/07/23/633221#game_state=preview,lock_state=preview,game_tab=,game=633221 Weather: https://www.rotowire.com/baseball/weather.phphttps://www.rotowire.com/baseball/weather.php Odds: https://www.sportsline.com/mlb/game-forecast/MLB_20210723_TOR@NYM/https://www.sportsline.com/mlb/game-forecast/MLB_20210723_TOR@NYM/ Lineups: Blue Jays: 1.
