I might be overstating this but in previous years when Jeff took two pitches that he thought were outside of the strike zone but called a strike, he would have mentally checked out of the AB. Not so, this year.
Michelle Zauner, the leader of "Japanese Breakfast" (you might have seen them on last week's SNL) is throwing out the first pitch tonight. The first picture is nice. I was all set to welcome her to the Big Shot Family until I saw the next picture which makes sense given her Philadelphia roots:
Yoan Lopez has to serve a 3-game suspension for doing something warranted and justified so there will be 24 Mets this weekend (including a full number of RPs with the dual call-ups and one fewer bench player with the Jankowski injury).
I wonder if this trade was made with the Jankowski injury in mind (although the deal was announced during the game and Jankowski played to the end of the game).

MLB should never allow its product to be moved to a lesser channel for another sport. I know that 2 is in almost as many households as the main channel but it shows that ESPN is prioritizing the NBA over MLB. Yet, MLB will do anything for a buck even if it makes itself look cheap.
80% chance of rain for Friday night. Saturday's game is on FOX: https://506sports.com/mlb.php?yr=2022&wk=1https://506sports.com/mlb.php?yr=2022&wk=1 Sunday's game is on ESPN (ugh).

For the 2d game in a row, the Mets' baserunning is overproduced. In G1, Lindor tried for an extra-base with a runner on 3d and Pete on deck. G2 begins with Nimmo, who had the LFers good play in front of him, running himself into an out.
