  1. Hosmer would be a second bloated contract (Cano) and Paddack was a little b*tch about Alonso getting the April Rookie of the Month Award. If the Mets are going to trade Dom then what does OAK want for Montas (or Manaea)?
  2. Scott Boras, pictures or it doesn't count. Otherwise, it seems like you're making stuff up to avoid facing the fact that your client should have accepted the Mets QO off a down year, one where he says he was confused by the multiple instructions, hoped for a rebound and then hit the FA market anew.
  3. We have our eight and the draft order has been set. The draft is TONIGHT (Monday) at 9 pm (ET).
  4. Hi. The draft is Monday at 9 PM (which coincides with the NCAA Men's BB Final, sorry). We currently have 9 teams which is fine but it means that we have a bye each week. There are two teams for "Chris" which might mean a family member has one. Please review the settings and suggest changes if you want. We're NL-only.
  5. April 8's game, which is Max Scherzer's Mets debut and in DC against Washington (with yours truly in attendance), will NOT be on SNY as Apple+ has claimed it and their games are exclusive: https://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/2022/03/26/mets-nationals-apple-tv-max-scherzer/https://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/2022/03/26/mets-nationals-apple-tv-max-scherzer/
  6. I've reset the date to 4/4 at 9 PM (but I can reset it again). Please review the settings. Remember that we're NL-only.
  7. We have 9 teams so there will be a "bye" every week unless we get to 10. Also, please look at the roster settings. I lowered the number of OF'ers to 4 because I remember it being a problem last year with 8 teams and we will have 9 or 10. I have 2 catchers but can be convinced to lower it to one (which would mean 12 batters and not 13). I have 5 IL spots and 3 bench spots. It's also OBP and not BA, QS and not W, and S + H and not Saves.
  8. How about the 4th at 9 PM?
  9. The season starts on the 7th and I'm going to the game on the 8th. Is there anyone that CANNOT do the 4th, 5th and/or 7th? Fman prefers to start by 8:30. Is 7:30, 8, or 8:30 better?
  10. I haven't checked here for a few days. I'm good for a later draft that day or a different day.
  11. Scherzer's Spring debut as a Met is available here: https://www.mlb.com/live-stream-games/2022/03/21https://www.mlb.com/live-stream-games/2022/03/21 via Marlins radio because the Marlins have radio broadcasts of every spring game.
  12. Fresh off his CPF TCD win, Albert Almora is headed to Cincinnati. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2022/03/reds-to-sign-albert-almora.htmlhttps://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2022/03/reds-to-sign-albert-almora.html
  13. =DocTee post_id=87393 time=1647784425 user_id=85] P ost lock-out, I thought that they would (especially with SC's comment that it would be rude not to exceed the tax named after him): 5. Sign a FA OF #5--no, unless you count Travis Jankowski. Marte and Canha don't count? I still think this team needs work-- the rotation and BP are essentially all RH. And there's not enough at bats for Davis/McNeil/Escobar (a signing we did not need).
  14. Benjamin Grimm wrote: Is it at all possible that the Mets are done?? I hope not. Just a few years ago, I wanted good players at every position. Now they have good players, but I don't feel they are good enough, considering the moves the Braves and Phillies have made. I think it will take a Valentinian managerial effort to win with the current outfield. Adding Conforto would make me feel a lot better. Later Post lock-out, I thought that they would (especially with SC's comment that it would be rude not to exceed the tax named after him): 1. Sign Kris Bryant 2. Trade for one of the Oakland starters 3. Sign a FA SP 4. Sign two LH RPs 5. Sign a FA OF #1--no #2--check #3--no #4--one out of two and it was Chasen Shreve. #5--no, unless you count Travis Jankowski. I'm not complaining--Billy got Max and Starling--but post-lockout it has been kinda quiet while ATL restocked (despite losing FF) and PHI got much better on offense. I think that Conforto would help.
  15. https://www.fangraphs.com/standings/playoff-oddshttps://www.fangraphs.com/standings/playoff-odds The Phillies have made big moves and improved their projections, per Fangraphs which now has: ATL, 92 wins NYM, 89 wins PHI, 88 wins.
  16. Kenley Jansen to ATL. Your move, Billy.
  17. Kay is seven years younger. It's the perspective he offers that's immature. That's it? He is such an overrated dope (and he will be teamed on ESPN2 with A-SlapTheBall in an "alternative broadcast" for Sunday Night Baseball).
  18. There has been more Conforto chatter the last two days. The Mets need another outfielder (unless you think that Travis Jankowski is the answer). The OF might be Nimmo (L), Marte ®, Canha ®/Dom(L). Given the date, perhaps he signs a one-year "pillow contract". From Just Mets (a free newsletter): [bLOCKQUOTE]At worst, Conforto would serve as depth at two positions in the outfield (for what it's worth Brandon Nimmo gets hurt frequently), and at best, he returns to the All-Star caliber form he demonstrated in both 2017 and 2020. It would remain to be seen if Conforto could earn an everyday role again with the Mets, but the designated hitter would afford him plenty of plate appearances anyway, especially against right-handed pitching (he had a .792 OPS against the right side in 2021). Conforto would also be valuable insurance for Mark Canha in the event he struggles against right-handed pitching or needs to be spelled overall. But between Conforto, Canha, Nimmo, Starling Marte, Dominic Smith and JD Davis, the Mets outfield depth chart would be as strong as any team in the league (assuming nobody is traded).[/bLOCKQUOTE]
  19. Benjamin Grimm wrote: Mets reportedly close to reaching a deal to bring back old friend Chasen Shreve. Who let the Wilpons sneak in? we only discuss big fish here now! The Rockies getting Bryant was a huge headscratcher. The Rockies owner was a leader of the anti-player, pro-"Steve Cohen Tax" group during the lockout and then makes the biggest post-lockout signing to help his mess of a team finish closer to 4th place in the NL West. Jackass.
  20. Any Howie is good Howie. With the announcers back on the road, this makes sense. Michael Kay takes west coast trips off and he's around 25 years younger. I just hope that they don't subject us to Ed Coleman in Howie's absence.
  21. There is! https://baseball.fantasysports.yahoo.com/b1/69309/invitation?key=115d0b2e397b9ba3&soc_trk=lnk&ikey=5c5034622ec9437chttps://baseball.fantasysports.yahoo.com/b1/69309/invitation?key=115d0b2e397b9ba3&soc_trk=lnk&ikey=5c5034622ec9437c
  22. Smart player, good base runner, better than I expected.
  23. Kris Bryant to the Rockies. What the heck are they doing there?
  24. Here is the latest revised schedule, which includes two new double-headers against ATL to make up for the 2 from the original schedule, 3 dates at the end of the year v. WSH, and all Sunday afternoon games are now at 1:40 because of the Peacock deal (so their early start will be exclusive for longer). https://metsinsider.mlblogs.com/mets-announce-revised-2022-schedule-9fe2cc87be33https://metsinsider.mlblogs.com/mets-announce-revised-2022-schedule-9fe2cc87be33
  25. Andrew Chafin, LHRP, to Detroit. This is noteworthy as the Mets need a LHRP and Chafin was considered to be the best one out there. I'm guessing that he will be more than the LOOGY in DET which might be why he is going there instead of Flushing, or he has some Michigan connection, but he won't be a Met.
