  1. I was going to say that we can anticipate some misplays from Marlon at 1B but the way Carlos Delgado has been going, that would be the norm. Alou is hitting almost .500 against Penny but he gets the day off after a night game even though tomorrow is an off-day. and as G-FAFIF said... LGM!
  2. The Doctor held up the baby and A-Rod tried to slap him out of the Dr's hand.

  4. metirish wrote: ="John Cougar Lunchbucket"]Alomar, bless his heart, is just incompetent. If only Carlos had a cycle going. HEY! That was my sarcastic remark on page 1. Thanks for the homage.
  5. What did the SNY guys say? Scully was too busy talking about Castillo's mother making sandwiches for the workers in San Pedro de Marcoris to comment on the game.
  6. John Cougar Lunchbucket wrote: Alomar, bless his heart, is just incompetent. As is Castillo. What a swing.
  7. John Cougar Lunchbucket wrote: I'd have sent Beltran. I agree. Perhaps if Delgado was going for a cycle.
  8. Scully ties the season record by mentioning the you-know-what during the 2d AB of the game.
  9. Over-managing by Melvin? Castillo doesn't K very much but a flyball was doubtful, and Marlon isn't having a good season, but I was very glad to see the IBB.
  10. Frayed Knot wrote: I'm not too wild about bunting in front of the player voted in his yearbook to be the boy least likely to hit a deep fly ball. That was funny! I appreciate the IBB.
  11. Has Willie even been tossed while Mets mgr.? My son's JV baseball mgr. got thrown out yesterday.
  12. Endy crosses himself before pinch-running. Whatever works, ND.
  13. Frayed Knot wrote: ="bmfc1"]Jim Kaat's no dummy but at least look at the uni number or the way they throw: there was a shot of the Mets BP and Kaat said it was Heilman. Is Kaat doing the TBS broadcast? - I thought he had retired. Yes he is, alongside Moron Skip Carey. I thought that the color guys were Ron Darling and Buck Martinez, alternating each week. Kaat's fine but Moron Skip Carey is a moron.
  14. Did Gary yell on the Young pop-up? Moron Chip Carey screamed "that ball might drop!!!!" Yeah, if there was nobody in the OF.
  15. Jim Kaat's no dummy but at least look at the uni number or the way they throw: there was a shot of the Mets BP and Kaat said it was Heilman.
  16. I'm watching on TBS... did I miss a McCain interview?
  17. Will Billy Wagner call-out Sandy Alomar for bad coaching?
  18. I'm watching the AZ feed via Extra Innings and I have this question: do Diamondbacks fans have more problems with ED than the average fan? There are Cealis commercials every other inning.
  19. Isn't this the 3d time this season that we've said that Reyes is "a homerun away from the cycle"?
  20. I know that Cubs fans love Santo and he was a great Cub and I'm sorry he lost a leg, but he is a nightmare on the radio. This is Chicago, one of the biggest cities in the country, they have guy that's slurring his words, openly cheering on his team, providing no insights, interrupting the play-by-play guy to exort the ball somewhere. It's unblievable how bad he is. When the Mets were there last week, admittedly I was in a foul mood while listening, I heard the two talk about how the pre-game soup gave Santo a "toilet issue." Really. Then the play-by-play guy said that after the game, the Cubs were going to the airport to "set sail" for Colorado. They have boats at the airport? Now don't get me started on AZ color guy Mark Grace.
  21. "This is just an acceptable performance from Oliver Perez" says Howie Rose. I wonder if John Sterling ever said anything like that about a Yankee.
  22. Can Perez declare for free agency right now?
  23. I agree w/the positive reviews. He stays with the action, interacts well with Howie Rose (which might be tough for him because he's not used to being the #2 guy), has a good voice, and provides the right amount of detail for the unusual plays. The only beef I have thus far is that his examples and references are for non-Mets teams and players. I don't care that a similar play happened to the Cardinals or Rockies... did it happen to a Met? He needs to read [u:9937f2297d]MBTN [/u:9937f2297d]and the media guide.
  24. "He flatly denies having had any kind of an inappropriate relationship with her...." As if was appropriate to travel with a teenaged girl. Then again, I'm sure he felt it was "appropriate" to have this relationship so it's OK for him to deny having an "inappropriate" relationship. He is truly the lowest of the low. Even Barry Bonds looks at him and says "at least I'm not that bad." Somewhere, Mike Piazza is laughing.
  25. I see Roger McDowell and think of three things: 1--he was the "secret spitter"; 2--hot foots; 3--that pitch to Terry Pendleton.
