    Sack One

It looks like no Ike tonight. The Bisons have tweeted their lineup for today's day game: BuffaloBisons #Bisons batting: Pridie CF, Thole C, FMart LF, Davis 1B, Hessman 3B, Carter DH, Cintron 2B, Feliciano RF, Tejada SS. RHP Dickey.

    Sack One

Carter, he of the many HRs in ST, was told to bunt in the 10th on Sunday. With the Bisons down 1, bottom of the 10th, Ike and Hessman singled but Carter bunted into a force play. Two K's later, the game was over. I would think that you'd want a big hitter to swing the bat--the tying run was already in scoring position--but no. Perhaps Oberkfell wanted to get him ready for Jerryball.

Is the Dillon Gee era approaching?
  5. bmfc1
He was the only Met to get a solid hit against a position player last night.

Couldn't they have simply sent down Valdes? Nothing against him, but he's not pitching tonight so they could have sent him back to Buffalo and called up Stoner (didn't the Mets once have a stoner?). Ike went to 2 for 5 today. .364, 2 HR, 4 RBI. http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb/stats/stats.jsp?pos=&sid=t422&t=p_pbp&pid=477195

Rubin: Mike Jacobs has been designated for assignment to make room for Tobi Stoner. Rubin: The Ike Davis era may begin this week. Murphy isn't ready. And after the Mets get through today with Stoner, they'll need a 1b.

I don't live in the NY area. I have Extra Innings which shows games in standard definition. Monday night's game is on ESPN which, of course, is in HD. The question is: do I watch the ESPN telecast, in glorious HD but with national announcers who will probably drive me nuts, or watch a non-HD broadcast with Gary, Keith & Ron. I'm leaning to SNY--what would you choose?

coutinho9 Who would have ever thought pelfrey would get a save before k rod this year

Put it in the record books.

Ledger_NYMets Manuel has cleverly figured out that they can't fire him in the middle of a game. He's strategically stretching this out til September. #nym

As Edgy said earlier, they should call up two pitchers for tomorrow and send down Valdes and someone else.
  15. bmfc1
Why not wait to see if Mather can throw a strike before the obligatory Castillo sac bunt?
  16. bmfc1
Ledger_NYMets To the 19th we go. This is now tied for the fourth longest game (in innings) in Mets history. #nym

Everyone on the Cardinals bench was laughing--this would be a horrible loss.
  18. bmfc1
I think I'd have slit my wrists by now if Joe Buck was announcing.
  19. bmfc1
Willie Harris plays for the Cardinals?
  20. bmfc1
My son and I have been watching the whole game.
  21. bmfc1
I just told my son about the crazy Ray Knight/Eric Davis fight game where Jesse and Roger switched between P and OF.
  22. bmfc1
No hitter by the Rockies tonight.
  23. bmfc1
Ledger_NYMets The Mets have used 21 players. Only Oliver Perez, K-Rod, Pelfrey and Raul Valdes remain.
  24. bmfc1
They need to change pitchers for Castillo?
  25. bmfc1
Ledger_NYMets RT @jessespector: The Mets committed catcher's interference twice last year. Both times, Ryan Ludwick was the batter. #nym
