Jerry wanted to keep his emergency catcher, Tatis, in the game. He's two steps ahead of us.

The good news is that Jerry saved Frankie for tomorrow. Oh, they're off tomorrow. IDIOT!

You're telling me that for the sake of one spot in the order, he removes a superior defender. Idiot.

Jerry should swap Francoeur and Bay in the lineup.

    Barajas should bat cleanup.

Niese's last inning. Gotta shut them down.

Ken Levine has a great story: http://kenlevine.blogspot.com/2010/05/ernie-harwell.html

"if baseball could talk, it would sound like Ernie Harwell" Beautiful stuff from Mitch Albom: http://www.freep.com/article/20100505/COL01/5050493/1358/SPORTS/Gone-now-but-never-forgotten

I concur w/LWFS. It's not like Pridie is a big prospect so we're not going to be upset if he sits on the bench. He's supposed to be a good fielder which obviously is important and he's hitting well (he couldn't hit worse than Matthews.) http://www.thebaseballcube.com/players/p/jason-pridie.shtml Catalanotto seems like a nice guy but whenever he bats, I think "that's all we got?" The Marlon Anderson comparison is apt.

A suggestion: instead of have one "correspondent" for each of the Mets minor league teams, can we just have one thread for each team? That way, if anybody wants to comment or provide news, they have a place to do so. I posted a news item above but it might get lost in a thread with a punny title.

Good stuff today at Buffalo as Chris Carter hits a walk-off HR. See it here and hear from Carter, too: http://bisonsblog.mlblogs.com/archives/2010/05/carter_blasts_buffalo_to_victo.html

Great to see some Phillies fans leaving while the pitching change was occurring. Meanwhile, Buffalo is winning 12-7 in the 7th. HR's by F. Martinez, Hessman and Carter.

Phillies TV was showing the game summary and missed the intentional hitting of Francoeur. Their TV production is awful.

Bad news--Buck's doing the game on Saturday: NYM-PHI: Joe Buck, Tim McCarver, Ken Rosenthal TEX-SEA: Josh Lewin, Eric Karros, Chris Rose HOU-ATL: Kenny Albert, Mark Grace

The Phillies lose a pitcher after he injures himself. A Braves icon is attacked by an ex-Brave. Meanwhile, all is well in Mets-land. http://blogs.ajc.com/atlanta-braves-blog/2010/04/30/jordan-speaks-to-jones-about-comments/?cxntfid=blogs_atlanta_braves_blog&utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter

Nice showboat effort by Victorino, jumping up and hanging on the to the fence as the ball sailed 50 feet past him.

Ryan Madson to the DL. Darn.
