  3. That damn walk to Panik will haunt us all winter.
  4. Hilary continues to lead in the polls. And if the Mets win.

  7. I hope that the vote for Selig ends in a tie.
  8. The Mets starting 1B is an interesting decision. I've seen Campbell's named mentioned (righty). Do you go with better defense (allegedly) with Loney or Duda and hope he can "getaholdaone"?
  9. Congratulations CPF!
  10. I hope that these guys remember to change before they take the field: Rene Rivera, Brandon Nimmo, T.J. Rivera, Ty Kelly, Josh Smoker, Matt Reynolds, Robert Gsellman, Gavin Cecchini, and Seth Lugo. Of course Nimmo is smiling. Rene Rivera is hardly a rookie--it says something about his "team spirit" (or perhaps his desire to wear a skirt). https://www.sny.tv/mets/news/mets-rookies-and-rene-rivera-dress-up-in-a-league-of-their-own-garb/204425666
  11. Tomorrow's game is on FOX which means Matt ("XFL") Vasgarsien and not Gary but for those of us who are "out of town", get a load of this crap: We have an exciting opportunity this weekend with MLB on FOX. With our schedule including two extremely compelling games we don’t want our fans to miss any of the thrilling action. So for the first time ever, instead of airing just one MLB game you’ll be getting the best of BOTH! This Saturday in non-home territory markets only FOX Sports will shift between both baseball games so that viewers can see key moments of each important contest. This concept, which we’ve dubbed “Whip Around,” will have the non-home territory markets start on the NYM @ PHL game and then shift to PIT @ STL at a pivotal moment. At some point, those same markets will go back to the NYM @ PHL game for a key situation. The shifting between the two games could occur multiple times. Please follow the previously provided formats, all local commercial breaks will air in their normal slots.
  12. Doesn't this team ever hit a homerun?
  13. The list at the top of the thread doesn't have Lagares.
  14. Salas joined the organization before September 1 so take solace, we have Salas. For comparison purposes, the Mets World Series roster was 11 pitchers, 14 hitters: http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/mets-and-royals-announce-2015-world-series-rosters-uribe-in/
  15. The Wild Card roster can be different from the NLDS roster. Using seawolf17's projection, Lagares and Nimmo can make the WC roster because you don't need to include the other starting pitchers (e.g., they can put Gsellman and Lugo in the bullpen instead of Verrett and Robles). I think that Terry loves Juan so I think he'll be on every roster, somehow.

  17. For some reason, in North Carolina it's confusing which bathroom they can use.
  18. How great would it be if the Mets clinched the WC on Friday (2 STL losses and the Mets win on Friday)?
  19. It's Noah. Look at his his WAR (you have to click on "Batting" to see the batters): http://www.fangraphs.com/leaders.aspx?pos=all&stats=pit&lg=all&qual=0&type=8&season=2016&month=0&season1=2016&ind=0&team=25&rost=0&age=0&filter=&players=0
  20. Bad throw by Ryan Zimmerman. Thomas Boswell: The man who made the high weak throw to home was first baseman Ryan Zimmerman who has hurt his shoulder so often, then played through pain with cortisone shots in pennant races, that he doesn’t throw the ball so much as he attempts to synchronize all of the things that don’t work properly in his arm until he can launch a toss-lob that’s painful — to watch. https://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/nationals/once-again-injuries-threaten-to-haunt-the-nationals-in-october/2016/09/27/45456f4c-84b6-11e6-92c2-14b64f3d453f_story.html

  22. Tough break for WSH as Wilson Ramos tears his ACL and is gone for the season.
  23. Tonight's "Batter vs. Pitcher" numbers: http://dailybaseballdata.com/cgi-bin/dailyhit.pl#game7 SF and STL face strangers.
  24. Sad backstory on last night's HP umpire. He had a heavy heart, too. Perhaps someone else should have been behind the plate. http://www.foxsports.com/mlb/story/jose-fernandezs-death-hit-hard-even-for-mondays-plate-umpire-092716
  25. I understand that tonight was tough for all parties but maybe tomorrow, the Mets can play some baseball and Terry can manage from inning one.
