  1. Burr to Hamilton in "Hamilton": "Talk less, smile more." Gary to Keith on SNY: "Maybe you need to talk a bit less."
  2. If Roseboom hits a homerun, is it a "Roseboom Ka-Boom"?
  3. Well done Edgy.
  4. "will you update the top with all of them so they're in one place?" I'm doing that by editing the 1st post but the thread stays buried unless I write something like this to bump it up.
  5. An early candidate for the 2017 Derby:
  6. So Brandon Phillips is OK with a trade to Atlanta but not Washington? He vetoed a trade to WSH last year which would have meant that Murphy wouldn't have gone there.
  7. It would be nice if Sandy traded for a player that could possibly help in the future rather than cash but he knows better.
  8. Good idea Ceetar. Fangraphs is a moving target but any others will be collected at the top.
  9. The pre-season magazines are making their way to our newsstands and CVS's. Where does each one think that the Mets will finish in 2017? When you see one, whether or not you buy the magazine, put the prediction here. Sporting News Baseball Yearbook: 2nd place, no WC (too many injuries to overcome at one time) Rotoworld Fantasy Baseball Preview: 2nd place, WC Baseball Prospectus PECOTA: 1st place, 88 wins (WSH with 87) Fangraphs: 2nd place, 84 wins (6 GB) Jonah Keri: Vegas odds, 89.5--he says "under" http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/jonah-keris-overunder-bet-picks-for-2017-buy-low-on-the-as-sell-high-on-the-royals/amp/ Lindy's: 2nd place, WC Baseball Engine Fantasy (something like that): 2nd place, 86 wins (9 GB), no WC Baseball Weekly: 2d place, 89 wins (1 GB) Athlon: 2d place, no WC SI: 2d place, 90 wins, 1 GB, WC, win WC, lose to Cubs in NLDS Washington Post: 2d place SB Nation: 2d place Sports on Earth (Will Leitch): 2d place, 83 wins, no WC SI: https://www.si.com/mlb/2017/03/29/season-preview-world-series-playoffs-expert-picks-predictions?xid=socialflow_twitter_si Tim Kurkjian: 2d place, no WC Hardball Talk: 3 WC picks: http://mlb.nbcsports.com/2017/03/30/our-2017-predictions-100-guaranteed-to-be-correct-or-your-money-back/ USA Today: http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/mlb/2017/03/30/mlb-2017-predictions-world-series-mvp-cy-young/99840328/ Newsday: https://twitter.com/joe_manniello/status/847597010626674688/photo/1 Mike Puma in the Post: 91-71, 1st place ESPN: http://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/page/SeasonpreviewMLB_2017predictions/2017-mlb-experts-mlb-team-predictions The Big Lead: http://thebiglead.com/2017/03/31/the-big-lead-2017-major-league-baseball-predictions/ 538: WC https://fivethirtyeight.com/sports/ The New York Times: https://www.nytimes.com/2017/03/30/sports/baseball/mlb-opening-day-national-league.html?rref=collection%2Fsectioncollection%2Fsports&action=click&contentCollection=sports&region=rank&module=package&version=highlights&contentPlacement=1&pgtype=sectionfront&_r=0 The Guardian: https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2017/mar/31/mlb-new-season-predictions-chicago-cubs
  10. Because I hate myself.
  11. I hope that the players from the other countries are allowed in the United States.
  12. Josh Satin is also on Team Israel.
  13. Two great ones but the Newsday entry is a smaller picture (separate box for the name of the paper). That was one of the best moments of the year but we're voting on the cover and the combination of the flip, the look at the bench (I think), and his coolness (not even smiling) make that the winner.
  14. As much as I dislike The Post, that's a unique cover with a surprisingly clever headline and good use of color in "Sports." It loses points because something good is mentioned about the MFYs but it's still my choice.
  15. The Orioles are close to resigning Trumbo so another door is about to close. Sandy's going to have to lower his expectations or Conforto might be in Las Vegas this April.
  16. St. Petersburg? The Mets left "St. Pete" years ago! Oh, not THAT St. Petersburg.
  17. The SNBY arrived today and it has a major typo as it omits the Mets from the playoffs, claiming that it will be difficult to bounce back from all the injuries of last year. They have the Mets finishing in 2nd place.
  18. "Wilk this way."
  19. Centerfield wrote: That's what a tiebreaking vote should look like. Swoop in wearing a tux and fix the situation like Winston Wolf. The guy who said "Let's go to the videotape!" That Wolf?
  20. Centerfield wrote: This one is closer than I thought it would be. Exit polls had Asdrubal in a landslide beating Terry 3-1. How could they be so wrong? Are people embarrassed to admit they like Wet and Wild? People didn't want to admit that they would rather vote for a flawed cover of someone who has the same skin color and background over a superior cover of someone with a different color and background.
  21. This was a tough one but the bat flip, the stoic reaction, the clever headline and the bonus insert made it my choice.
  22. Anyone going to Spring Training this year? I'm planning on going to the 3/1 game in Jupiter and 3/2 in PSL.
  23. Yo's agents like this contest: "New Stat for a Slugger: Back Page Appearances" http://nyti.ms/2j6e4Gi
  24. Post your Mets-related wish for 2017. Just one (I'm a stingy genie). It can't be "that the Mets win the World Series" or anything related to making the playoffs, record, winning a certain number of games/not losing a certain number of games, finishing first, making it to the Series, that there is a Mets parade, etc., et al. It has to be specific, such as: That David Wright does not go on the DL all season (that's mine). It can be personal, about you or your family. Kapeesh? Do it! And best Met wishes to you for 2017.
