  1. d'Arnaud starts tonight against a team that has 4 steals this season... of home!
  2. Gomez has to clear waivers on the AL teams first so he might not get to the Mets (but it's possible). If the Mets want/can afford him, it could take a trade. It would be ironic if HOU wanted Flores. Perhaps the Mets "can fix" Gomez so I'd take the chance.
  3. Does it? Gives extra time to remove those bone spurs.
  4. Time to trade anyone who isn't going to help for 2017. Let Matz and Noah rest.
  5. The title of this thread should be shortened to "Dammit!"
  6. "Mets go 1-2-3" should be the name of this season's "highlight" film.
  7. What kind of a schmuck wears a Braves cap to a non-Braves game and sits in the front row?
  8. TJ Rivera had good at bats and worked the count last night so I was hoping that he'd play today. Nope.
  9. Edgy's comments about wives and gf's are one of the CPF's best features.
  10. Terry... you are an idiot. If he was so intent on bunting, then PH Matz or deGrom.
  11. I've been in favor of #fireterry for years. He might be a good manager in the clubhouse (what we don't see) but he is not a good in-game manager. And don't take it from me, this ESPN "Insider" column has him as #27 in the game: http://www.espn.com/mlb/insider/story/_/id/17235632/which-mlb-skippers-do-well-no-1 I wish that he retired after last season to "go out on top." I think that he has one more year on his contract but it's time for him to go. Teufel and Backman can platoon as manager.
  12. Remember almost-Met Carlos Gomez? Flores crying... that guy? The Astros DFA'd him today. Perhaps the Mets Doctors knew something that no one else did.

We don't really think the problem with this game was that poor pen construction forced Terry into using Robles for the 7th inning, do we? That's not what I said. Sandy failed to procure another bullpen arm as he promised. Perhaps if Sandy got off his ass and traded for a reliever we wouldn't have to automatically see Robles in the 7th.

  15. In "The Night Of", Stone (John Turturro) has a son named after Dwight Gooden.
  16. He will now have plenty of time to put up his own merchandise tent outside of Citi Field.
  17. A series that they could have swept but at least we have the glow of a win to take us into the off day. And now 6 games with AZ and 3 with SD await.
  18. Two bullshit hits but I wonder what would have happened if the idiot manager left his stud starter in for one more batter or brought in Reed when it was obvious that the lefty batter would be removed when Blevins came in.
  19. I don't know if Ty Kelly is a good SS but Reynolds is striking out a lot and Kelly had 2 hits yesterday so I'd start Kelly and OMG I'm talking about Kelly vs. Reynolds in a "must game" for a team barely hanging on to get to the SECOND Wild Card spot. And the only place d'A should be starting is AAA.
  20. Rubin: "Terry Collins said the Mets replay official believed there was no challenge on last play and that Jay Bruce was out. Collins acknowledged postgame that he should have challenged for the heck of it since there was nothing to lose." DUH. How was NOT challenging even an option. Second game in a row they didn't challenge when they should have--and the Mets have now found another aspect of baseball to be bad at.
  21. The catcher can't block the plate but he can stick his leg in the path of the runner?
  22. d'A for AAA. http://www.milb.com/player/index.jsp?sid=t400&player_id=476192#/career/R/hitting/2016/ALL

  24. It's not Logan Verett's fault. He's not a major league pitcher. He should be in AAA or in the Mets bullpen as the long guy. Injuries and Sandy's lackadaisical attitude have put Verrett in a place he shouldn't be: starting a major league game.
  25. Gary Apple's HR call: "My friends, you can say goodbye."
