After seeing him the last three days, I'll go with Rajai Davis. Nice glove, decent bat, great speed. I'm not sure how he fits into the roster but I can see him sticking around and contributing in various ways.
And today, St. Lucie ponied up: https://cbs12.com/news/local/new-york-mets-spring-training-to-stay-in-port-st-luciehttps://cbs12.com/news/local/new-york-mets-spring-training-to-stay-in-port-st-lucie
I checked to see how these games fit into the 2019 schedule (of course, it's the MFYs and Red Sox and they are treated like royalty): both teams have home day games on Wednesday and are then off Thursday and Friday. The games are Saturday at 1:10 PM (Eastern) and Sunday at 10:10 AM (Eastern). The teams are off on Monday and have road games on Tuesday (Boston in Toronto and the MFYs at Citi Field).
Danny Espinosa, former National, to a minor league deal with a major league invite (do they use Evite?)

it's 50-50 that the Mets will play in London in 2020: https://www.newsday.com/sports/baseball/mets/mlb-london-mets-nationals-cubs-cardinals-1.27066825?utm_source=tw_sphttps://www.newsday.com/sports/baseball/mets/mlb-london-mets-nationals-cubs-cardinals-1.27066825?utm_source=tw_sp
Jack Reinheimer has been claimed off waivers by the Orioles from the Rangers. That didn't last long: Reinheimer has been DFA'd by the Orioles. https://beta.rotoworld.com/baseball/mlb/player/20586/jack-reinheimerhttps://beta.rotoworld.com/baseball/mlb/player/20586/jack-reinheimer
The Realmuto signing changed PECOTA's predictions: https://legacy.baseballprospectus.com/fantasy/dc/https://legacy.baseballprospectus.com/fantasy/dc/ The Mets lost a game, the Phillies gained two games and the Marlins lost a game.
Months ago, Jeter wanted Syndergaard from the Mets and Andujar + Sanchez from the MFYs for Realmuto and instead got a fraction of that from the Phillies. Way to go Jeter.
Sean Burnett, lefty RP, to a minor league deal https://metsmerizedonline.com/2019/02/mets-sign-left-hander-sean-burnett-to-minors-deal.html/?fbclid=IwAR2bwMjWS5r21rGMWFfkhBsfIstvcwk-G0JuJiBcAPd6iS2Vogs6FJbUhpghttps://metsmerizedonline.com/2019/02/mets-sign-left-hander-sean-burnett-to-minors-deal.html/?fbclid=IwAR2bwMjWS5r21rGMWFfkhBsfIstvcwk-G0JuJiBcAPd6iS2Vogs6FJbUhpg https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/b/burnese01.shtmlhttps://www.baseball-reference.com/players/b/burnese01.shtml https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sean_Burnetthttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sean_Burnett
On the new season of Survivor, Dan "The Wardog" DaSilva has a Mets tattoo. You can see a Nets tattoo, too https://ew.com/tv/survivor-edge-of-extinction-cast-gallery/#dan-the-wardog-dasilvahttps://ew.com/tv/survivor-edge-of-extinction-cast-gallery/#dan-the-wardog-dasilva https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DzUOZLxU0AAT_c2.jpg:large>
I anticipated this post more than I did the Fyre Festival. Thank you for the hard work... and by "you", I mean everyone on the TCD staff. I note the excellent reading material in the TCD Lobby but I'm concerned about the bees (that's a beekeeper in the back, right?) and the raccoon (maybe that's common in Stockholm).
In the Hulu documentary about the Fyre Festival, "Fyre Fraud" (not the Netflix documentary on the same subject), at the very end, Ja Rule is on some sort of broadcasted program, drinking, and the host of the show is wearing a Mets jersey and cap.
Jeffy whined, "I don't know how many teams have two $30 million players”. He's referring to Cespedes' $29M contract. The Nationals have two: Scherzer and Strasburg. They offered Harper $30M so that would have been 3. Oh yeah, they don't have their own cable network and the Mets do. And the Mets are getting insurance money for Cespedes' injury. Per Puma: "In addition, the Mets won't be on the hook for Cespedes' full salary this season with insurance covering a significant portion of his payout as he rehabs from surgery to remove calcifications from both heels."
I'm not a card-ologist (?), I'm just asking the experts, but it seems as if the 2019 Topps design sacrifices space for an unnecessary border (I'm not going to say "wall") on the right and at the bottom. In other words, couldn't they have made the picture larger?
I don't think that the champion cover, or any of the covers, has to be indicative of the season. This is simplistic, I know, but I would rather have a beer with "Smile High" so it gets my vote.
