1. When his hair is good and ready and not a second before!
2. I remember when my father brought home "Ball Four" and I laughed at "beaver hunting" and "shitfuck". We learned from Bouton that ballplayers are real people and he changed sportswriting forever. RIP. Did you know that there was a "Ball Four" sitcom? Here's Harry Chapin's theme song:
3. He's ours and they haven't screwed him up. Thanks to his fiancee, Haley, who goes with him on the road. You should follow her on Instagram: Instagram WWW.INSTAGRAM.COM Create an account or log in to Instagram - Share what you're into with the people who get you.
4. Good line, 41Forever. His pitcher isn't doing him any favors.
5. Sherman says that the Red Sox and the MFYs are interested in Wheeler. Good. A GM skilled in negotiations shouldn't have any trouble playing them off each other.
6. Joe Girardi now, and give him a half-season to acclimate himself to the team, or a search in October which could still lead to Girardi? https://www.sny.tv/mets/news/joe-girardi-presents-complex-case-for-mets-who-have-asked-around-about-ex-yankee-manager/308833486https://www.sny.tv/mets/news/joe-girardi-presents-complex-case-for-mets-who-have-asked-around-about-ex-yankee-manager/308833486
7. We don't even have Gary to look forward to on Friday as he's taking the weekend off. Wayne moves over to join Keith in the booth for the Battle for 4th Place.
8. HR's for the season: Hech--5 Cano--4.
9. What an embarrassing afternoon in every respect, including BVW's continued refusal to talk to the press (he has presser scheduled for Friday). Brodie couldn't stop talking before the season and was omnipresent in spring training but now he's quiet. What a jackass.
10. Jay Bruce has 4 HRs in 7 games AGAINST the Mets. Robinson Cano has 4 HR's FOR the Mets all season. They were in the same trade. That's a chair-throwing stat.
11. Yes, it was too much to ask for. Wheeler doesn't want to be traded and won't be with results like this, although it started with a pop-up that Brodie's 2B waved at.
12. What the hell are they waiting for? https://twitter.com/martinonyc/status/1147912298390085632
13. I didn't love it and I expected to... but I didn't hate it. I didn't like the way the story played out and the scene that is referenced above took me out of the movie. It's impossible to dislike because of the music. I wish that there was a way for Lily James to have sung lead just once.
14. Is it too much to ask for a Mets win so we can hang onto that, and a series win, for the 4-day break? Probably.
15. In the movie "Yesterday", during the blackout which leads to the events of the movie we see CitiField and then a Brewers batter.
16. If both New Yorker covers lose in this round I might throw a chair or curse out Tim Healy. Vote for Noah!
17. Brodie Van Ego threw a fit after the closer he traded for blew the save, the reliever he signed as a free agent gave up numerous runs, and the catcher he signed as a free agent had trouble throwing in the direction of 2B. That inning was the product of his off-season.
18. Last night, Tim Tebow hit his 3rd HR in the last 6 games but is still only hitting .163.
19. Other than JD Davis, did Brodie Van Ego make any good moves in the off-season? He kept Mickey, Eiland, and DiSarcina, signed a lot of coaches who appear to have had no impact, signed Familia, Ramos, Lowrie, Justin Wilson, traded 2 top prospects for Cano and Diaz... yeah, getting a novice GM was a brilliant decision by Jeffy.
20. Ramos saved a run there by not throwing. Good job!
21. It's all encompassed right there: the guy that Brodie Van Ego trades for gives up a possible game-winner to one of the guys that he traded. And then Brodie Van Ego's FA catcher throws one in the Hudson River. The Mets only have 2 runs tonight but Brodie and Mickey should both be embarrassed.
22. Ramos pointed right away.
