    I've got no ill will toward deGrom leaving. I agree he didn't want the Mets, but believe he simply wanted a different challenge and a change of scene for his family. We were lucky to have him for as long as we did and as good as he was.

Are other owners listening? “I'm pretty clear about what I want to do, right?” Cohen said. “Hopefully people are listening to what I want to do as far as this being a bridge to a stronger farm system. I mean, it is a marker of success of my ownership reign.” I'm even more comfortable with spending now to win in order to build the farm and win by spending less later. The ultimate WIN/WIN!

    Reading this back it sounds very mean spirited, not my intention, apologies to Gronk. He definitely plays "dumb", so it's part of his shtick. If he would be offended by your statement, then he might want to portray himself a little more seriously.

    The time to do this was before they implemented the universal DH last season rendering the NL/AL distinction essentially meaningless. I feel like all of these slow rule changes enacted each year would really confuse new fans.

    He was a major part of the 2006 Division winning team. I remember him being mostly money during his Mets career...even if his personality did not seem like it fit in with NYC.
