I'll see this one on DVD. I enjoyed the Dawn of the Dead remake and I got through 300, but as much as I wanted to like Watchmen, I've never finished the whole movie. These movies always look interesting to me in the previews, but I have a hard time watching the actual films.

Better than I expected. It ended rather abruptly for a long-ish film. Reznor deserved the Oscar for scoring the film. Very nice work. It was nice to see Eisenberg playing a different type of character than those he's played in the past, although I still find his acting pretty mediocre.

I'm just of the opinion that now that we have so many awards shows that we have a season named after it, the Academy Awards should be held to a higher standard. They are the pinnacle of all of the award shows. They don't need to be yound and hip - there are a dozen other awards that can have that distinction. The Oscars should be glamorous and classy. Overall, I don't care one way or the other. I had no dogs in this race and was just looking for some Sunday night entertainment. But, Bob Hope is rolling in his fucking grave.

IMO, Franco and Hathaway were making jokes between themselves. The overall writing was stiff. Hathaway flubbed several lines and ad-libbed her goofs. Franco seemed like he really didn't care if he was there or not. The exchanges between Timberlake and Kunis made several references to one of the documentary nominees that no one got. Kirk Douglas went on WAY to long. Hathaway gushed over to many of the presenters and blew too many kisses. The whole production seemed unprofessional.

Sat through this on Sunday, just hours before it won all of those technical Oscars. I agree with most of what sharpie said above. Decent flick, not my cup o' tea.

I thought the production was groundbreaking at the time. Like many tech-based movies, it really doesn't hold up almost 20 years later...though the CGI still looks better than some blockbusters released just last year. The acting is hokey and the "message" is ham-fisted at best. It spawned two unnecessary and shitty sequels. Jeff Goldblum is pretty awesome, though. And it is a fairly typical Spielberg action flick, which are usually better than the Cameron, Bay, Bruckheimer pieces of poo.

Hard to believe this movie is almost 20 years old. I liked it when it came out. I haven't seen it in years. Completely unbelievable...but still a fun concept. Kevin Kline does a nice job.

Thought it was pretty good. One of Michael Cera's best post-Suberbad movies. I enjoyed that Roxy Richter was played by Mae Whitman who portrayed George Michael's girlfriend Ann on Arrested Development.

I caught this last night on cable (after being shocked at my lack of film watching over the past couple of years). I thought it was pretty OK. First off, the soundtrack was amazing. I thought the characters were great and some of the hijinks were funny. I really enjoyed Brannagh's character. The ending was stupid, but there are few that aren't anymore. Hokey and predictable? Yes. But it was moderately enjoyable to me.

I looked at the list and the only film I've seen that is nominated for anything is Iron Man 2, and I only watched that because my lady friend rented it. I want to see Black Swan and maybe True Grit, but I don't really get excited by movies anymore.
