  1. There's a rules link on the page as well that helps out with the details of the league. Fun stuff...glad to have you aboard.
  2. Correct, I remember ABNS asking if there were openings at the beginning of this last season.
  3. I wasn't going to say anything in hopes that the deadline might pass with any more salary increases to my team.
  4. One of my faves. I'll watch it whenever it is on.
  5. Saw Gravity this afternoon, and I loved it for all of the reasons Edgy and Vic have mentioned. I'm not a big fan of Bullock, but she was impressive in what had to be an emotionally demanding role. I don't know that I have seen a 3D movie in a theater since I was about 8 (Creature From The Black Lagoon, 1954)...and to speak to FK's point about being the type of movie that 3D was made for, I really can't imagine this movie being nearly as effective in 2D. I don't watch a lot of superhero/fantasy/CGI-action flicks (much less at a theater and much, much less in 3D), but I was amazed at the tension that the 3D images built on their own and found myself completely immersed in the film, the action and the story. I have never experienced any other 3D film that has fully pulled that off. This afternoon is certainly the closest I have ever come to truly imagine what the conditions of space must be like. Pretty effective film. Four stars.
  6. Looks like congrats are in order for marathon...just barely. Great season, guys...I look forward to next year.
  7. Yeah, yeah....:^P You're the only one of us who isn't already thinking about 2014.
  8. My favorite tweet so far... Richard Dreyfuss @RichardDreyfuss You read for a part, you feel good about it, you feel confident, then they cast Ben Affleck.
  9. I had picked up Valdy mid-season, but cut him a few weeks ago.
  10. Beware the approaching Deathship. I have been relying on my pitching all year...but my offense hit a wall at the end of May. mm's O needs to come back down earth or else I am going to have to start trying to sell off some pieces.
  11. Oh....you're right, you're right, you're right. If I add up the totals in the final screen shot above, they do include Wheeler's stats...he's just not individually listed on the breakdown. No worries then...they just presented it very confusingly. Thanks for checking...this had been worrying me all day.
  12. So....I've got a problem. I have Zack Wheeler on my team and I set him as one of my starting pitchers yesterday. This screenshot from last night shows that he was set: Last night, I noticed that he was not being included in my live updates: I thought maybe they would fix it and give me the stats this morning, but they didn't: I can see that they still have him listed in AAA (as a player for Toronto...I can only imagine that is because Las Vegas was the Toronto AAA affiliate last season). Maybe there was some snafu with him being promoted as the 26th man on the double header roster and then sent back down. But he did pitch a major league game, I did have him set as a SP and I could use the 6 scoreless innings and 7Ks. Ceetar - is there anyone you can contact (or I can contact) at the league to check on this. Part of the joy of this league is that it is a keeper league. Drafting Wheeler back in March of 2012 and waiting 15 months to start him only to not get his stats would be a bummer.
  13. The MM's had a closed-door players-only meeting last night. As owner, I had a few things to say, but they wouldn't let me in. I'll probably just go blab to the papers about it today.
  14. Too dark to see...
  15. Ceets making my April magic look like nothing now.
  16. Yikes! This was pretty bad. Apatow's wife plays a pretty mean witch. A fake couple fighting for 2-plus hours. Did they really expect anyone to find this flick endearing...even with the cheap joke/gags? Paul Rudd is a guy I want to like...but I'm going to have to see more from him. I feel like he could make better choices now that he has a resume. Step out of you comfort zone, Paul.
  17. FYI...like last season, the roster lineups have been reset...so everyone you have is a bench player until you denote otherwise. Make sure you check before opening day.
  18. Not sure if Lunchie is aware, but it looks to me like he's got Cuddyer listed twice on his roster, counting against his cap twice and making it look like he has 40 players, but he only has 39.
  19. The draft is a week away...set your targets NOW!
  20. Not bad. Would have been better with less of Affleck in front of the camera.
  21. Edgy MD wrote: No women? All white guys too. Is this a recording studio or a golf club? Seriously, you had me at Cronin. Stevie Nicks. How did I miss that? (Shame on Wikipedia's list of featured artists.)
  22. Dave Grohl directed a documentary about the history of the famed Los Angeles recording studio Sound City and the making of the album he recorded with some of the musicians who recorded there. The movie features: Vinny Appice, Frank Black, Lindsey Buckingham, Kevin Cronin, Rivers Cuomo, Mick Fleetwood, Josh Homme, Alain Johannes, Paul McCartney, Tom Petty, Trent Reznor, Ross Robinson, Rick Rubin, Pat Smear, Rick Springfield, Corey Taylor, Benmont Tench, Lars Ulrich, Butch Vig, Lee Ving, Brad Wilk, Neil Young, Stephen Pearcy, Warren DeMartini, Of course, I loved it having spent countless hours recording analog music. This movie was pretty much made for peeps like me.
  23. 13th works for me too. At or after 8pm EST would be best.
  24. My calendar is loser-ishly open. I should be able to be available at any time agreed upon.
  25. Burton's best work: "Debbie, he is only, like, the next Martin Scorsees." ikLJDaVStww I outgrew Tim Burton by the time I was in high school. Outside Pee-Wee and Beetlejuice, the only other Burton movie I remotely enjoyed was Mars Attacks! because of a talented cast. I'm not a fan.
