  1. Lefty Specialist wrote: The question is, should they be sellers if they tank and who do you sell? Colon and Walker likely have value. I'm not sure I'm there yet, but unless they go on a run in the next week and a half, I could get there pretty quickly.
  2. These four with the Cubs are home games...so there's that.
  3. I feel pretty much the same way about the team as I did at this time last season. They gave me a great surprise last year, but what are the odds of catching lightening in a bottle two years in a row?
  4. I think everyone is. However, a win today defies odds and provides a sliver of hope for the next 10 days.

  6. Yeah, it may be stating the obvious, but how the Mets fare in these two weeks leading up to the AS break could make or break their season. Treading water is hard enough, but these games could really sink the team if they can't perform better than last night.
  7. "> http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/e/escobyu01.shtml Escobar has been out of the Angel's lineup since Thursday with a bone bruise on his left knee.
  8. Stephen Strasburg placed on 15-day disabled list with upper back strain. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.washingtonpost.com/amphtml/news/nationals-journal/wp/2016/06/26/stephen-strasburg-placed-on-15-day-disabled-list-with-upper-back-strain/
  9. Losing 5 of 7 to the last place Braves in a 10-day span is pretty low. The 2016 Mets are 3 games better than the 2015 Mets after 74 games (and a half game closer to the Nats in the standings than a year ago), but they look every bit as bad as they were last summer and I don't see too many heroes on the horizon this season.
  10. As I have expressed in the past, I deeply regret the incident that occurred and remain remorseful and apologetic to my family. I have completed the counseling required by MLB, have been in ongoing therapy, and will continue with counseling going forward. I appreciate the Mets organization for believing in me and providing the opportunity to come back home to New York.

  13. Loney as a Met in 76 ABs: .289/.333/.408/.741 Not an ideal #3 hitter, but we've had worse.
  14. Zzzzzz. This ranks at about #38 on my worry list right now.
  15. Funny. The only one I'm not getting the reference on is "Taxi" for Cabrera. ?
  16. Elbow discomfort is NO GOOD. I hope we don't lose both of our All Stars.
  17. Worst. Shakeup. Ever. Adam Rubin wrote: Team officials would not swear to that decision late Monday, but they acknowledged the only shakeup when the Mets resume play on Tuesday against the Kansas City Royals at Citi Field may be Travis d'Arnaud's return from the disabled list. http://espn.go.com/blog/new-york/mets/post/_/id/120677/michael-conforto-likely-to-stick-in-majors-for-now
  18. The article linked in the link there makes it seem unlikely, though. Or hella expensive. Ken Davidoff wrote: ...however, the A’s aren’t quite ready to enter sell mode. “The mode we’re in right now is survival mode,” A’s president of baseball operations Billy Beane said Friday in a telephone interview. “Our challenge has come in building a roster of healthy bodies. The idea of moving bodies right now is not very appealing.” http://nypost.com/2016/06/17/mets-have-asked-as-about-trading-for-danny-valencia/
  19. Conforto > Kirk - and it's silly to think it's even close...especially when it comes to plate discipline and the ability to identify and hit mistake pitches. Michael has shown some flaws while he has been slumping over the past month and a half. But he had demonstrated before that (over larger periods of time) that he can be an All-Star type hitter. I can't say the same of Kirk.
  20. Flowers was the backup to Pierzynski when AJ was with the White Sox, too. Freeman was 10/18 with a 2 doubles, a triple, 3 homers and 6 RBI in the just finished 4 game series with Cincy. It's the smallest of sample sizes, but he is swinging a hot bat right now.
