  1. Tigers closer Francisco Rodriguez says he battled Zika in offseason
  2. d'Kong76 wrote: In-game-trivia... who did the White Sox sweep in the 2005 World Series? Maybe the easiest trivia question of the year so far for me. That White Sox team dominated the playoffs in 2005. I enjoyed the footage of Ventura's GSS and Piazza impression in the booth's ode to Robin.
  3. A Grandy walk and Cabrera single gave the Mets runners at the corners with 0 outs in the 1st. A Conforto K and a Walker DP ended that threat quickly. Grr.
  4. Adam Eaton, RF Jose Abreu, 1B Todd Frazier, 3B Melky Cabrera, LF Brett Lawrie, 2B J.B. Shuck, CF Tyler Saladino, SS Alex Avila, C Miguel Gonzalez, RHP
  5. Curtis Granderson, RF Asdrubal Cabrera, SS Michael Conforto, LF Neil Walker, 2B James Loney, 1B Juan Lagares, CF Ty Kelly, 3B Rene Rivera, C Jacob deGrom, RHP
  6. That game was two hours of good times followed by a swift kick in the gut. Ouch!
  7. I would think at some point this season they would want to see him again at the ML level considering Walker is a FA after the year.
  8. cooby wrote: Yep. I think a brawl is brewing too. When is the next series with the Dodgers? (I've gotta print out a schedule...) The Mets are done with LA during the regular season this year. I don't know that they would brawl if they were to meet in the postseason. That means this would likely spill into next season if further action by the Mets were going to be taken. Utley is 37 and is on a one-year deal with the Dodgers for 2016. I'm not sure what the odds are that Utley is even a Dodger next season...50/50 at best?
  9. Cerrone's dad passed away on Monday after a brief lung cancer battle. This could explain why his blog posts have been slightly more pessimistic than usual about the Mets early this season. RIP
  10. Due to weekend plans, I had gone without Mets baseball for over 36 hours! This was a good one to come back to. Harvey looked multitudes better than any other outing this season to me.
  11. Lefty Specialist wrote: John Cougar Lunchbucket wrote: I didn't see Harvey in that welcoming party. I did. He went to give Curtis a high five but missed up and away. Harv wasn't waiting at the plate, but he was out on the field. He and Grandy even shared a little hug. [fimg=500]http://i.imgur.com/CK8ZdjR.png[/fimg] [fimg=500]http://i.imgur.com/ghWCE5D.png[/fimg] I only know because I was actively looking for him in the celebration, too.
  12. There's also the organization (media staff, manager, teammates, etc) that, at times, has allowed themselves to be bullied by Harvey.
  13. John Cougar Lunchbucket wrote: I mean, FUCK these guys. I vote for this being the team's mantra this season.
  14. Then you'll get to witness the resurrection in person. Lucky duck.
  15. That's not the only handle he's had here, IIRC. He's got crossover like Ichiro's hits in Japan. Remarkable!
  16. There was also I Nats fan sitting behind home plate wearing a red "MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN" hat.
  17. I want Harvey to go down because he is costing the team wins. Give him a head to toe MRI to rule out any injury he may be hiding and then send him away for three starts in the minors. If he's not hurt, then it is in his head. Let him work with Viola. Let him get away from the media and the city and the team. I agree with letting him work it out, but not at the expense of more ML losses. What is the definition of insanity again?
  18. WHAT? So, he's going to make his next start? Crazy. At least that one will be an ESPN holiday gay dame against the Chi Sox. It won't just be the local reporters getting to see him, it'll give the national outlets a front-row seat for the suck.
  19. He was the starting catcher from mid-April through July last season. That's longer than an extended cameo (Word Up!). I believe Kevin has more PA than any other Mets catcher since the start of last season. Travis went through his growing pains in 2013/2014 when the Mets weren't trying to win RIGHT NOW!
  20. I haven't seen anything from Plawecki over the past two seasons that shows me he'll hit enough to be considered a #1 catcher. Even with Duda out for a minimum of six weeks, I'm more concerned about how long d'Arnaud will be away and what that solution will be if it's too much longer. Can Conforto catch?
  21. An off day after a series win against our biggest rival is better than an off day after a loss. I'll certainly take the split over six games so far...all things considered.
