  1. The boat race is no more! I think I was out of first place for 1 solitary day since Opening Day, but I've now been eclipsed by Mohawk and Muddy Chickens with Snukes and Smiggy right behind. Carrying the rotting corpse of former superstar Paul Goldschmidt has finally caught up to me!
  2. Help is on the way to the highest bidder! I see an auction has starter for super hawt Detroit prospect Christin Stewart!
  3. Some of that saved money now spent on May break-outs seems to closing the gap, too. The Drunken Savages are adjusting the rear-view mirror and not happy about it...
  4. The top of the standings are starting to bunch up now. I was hoping this would be a boat race, but it's not looking so likely anymore.
  5. the mid-game interview was super choppy, but dad is Irish and mom is Scottish? PJ sounds more San Diego than Belfast nowadays, but it was cool to see his fam going nuts, jumping up and down, and waving flags like it was some World Cup match.
  6. Ah, good find. I didn't know he had thoracic outlet, too. And what a quote: "I love the Mets organization; they've treated me great," he said. "They're always lifting us up."
  7. David Thompson got Plawecki'd, out 4-6 weeks.
  8. ON FIRE. He has appearances and first and second, but has mostly played third. He came up as a shortstop, so he's clearly versatile. Hope he gets a cup of coffee one day.
  9. Kid's off to a bit of an underwhelming start at Vegas, hitting .281/.349/.368 (.718) with zero homers so far. But the PCL heals all hitters' wounds, so as long as he plays, I'm not too worried about those numbers staying down. Do the thing, young man.
  10. First update of '18 and even though poor Dale is back at high A at the age of 22, his his OPS this season is ~150 points higher this year than his career OPS. He is scorching St. Lucie opponents to a .240./345/.440 clip. That's great for him! Keep it going, sonny boy!
  11. I got in this year cause somebody bailed at the last minute. Not sure the turnover rate around here, but would prob have to be a similar situation!
  12. Sometimes I think there's separation at the top (today!) but, like, 2 days ago, someone else was in first by 6 points. How long til it becomes more of a boat race and then daily points changes aren't so volatile?
  13. She looks ready to mash.
  14. Amazing Avenue just previewed the '18 St. Lucie Mets and they mentioned my boy Dale, and I thought they were straight trippin' when they mentioned he'd be in the infield mix after he started last year in St. Lucie and jumped to Binghamton and then Vegas. But, alas, there his name appears on the St. Lucie Mets roster page.
  15. ... to go mano a mano with Mr. Burdick.
  16. I checked the Vegas AAA roster to see if that's where my dude was assigned, but turns out he was sent back to AA again. There is currently only one player listed as "3B" on the Vegas roster blocking my adoptee... and it's my other adoptee, the offensively-challenged, defier-of-all-odds, Dale Burdick.
  17. I can't say if it was my replacement dude or not. I had long-standing tickets to the Back to the Future Fan Fest, so naturally could not participate in this one dork thing because of the other dork thing.
  18. Yah some of this movie bugged me, too. ***Spoiler below*** What the hell was up with the guy who harassed Frances McDormand's character in the gift shop, hinting that he raped and murdered her daughter, then was bragging about burning a body in the town bar? But guess what, he's not the dude at all, just some rando from Idaho. That seemed a forced misdirection.
  19. The new Easton Assassins ownership has reached out to the owners of the park in Guadalajara, Mexico (where the Cornballers used to call home) to check on the park's availability for the upcoming season. Usage of the Cornballerâ„¢ machine in the concession area during our inaugural season sadly resulted in numerous injuries to staff and patrons alike, so the Guadalajara tenants have refused all attempts to renew our partnership, citing "current and pending litigation," whatever that implies. As such, we have contacted a number of municipalities in the US, Canada and Mexico and have found one eager taker: the city of Pawnee, Indiana. There is a small park on the border of Pawnee and the neighboring town of Eagleton that Mayor Knope has invited our club to use for free, on one condition. We must pay tribute to the storied history of Pawnee and their native ancestors by adorning our uniforms with the name and colors of their legacy mascot, the Pawnee Drunken Savages. We have happily accepted! We'll see you on the field soon, Pawneeans!

  22. TransMonk wrote: It looks like playoffs will be considered for 2019, but not this season. Batter categories: R, HR, OBP, SLG Pitcher categories: ERA, WHIP, HR/9, K Just curious, did I miss the decision on playoffs? looks like ceeter was still considering, last message I saw.

  24. So what's gonna be the deal here regarding playoffs? Also, can someone please point me to the categories for scoring? I don't see them in the league settings. Lastly, ceets, I think you need to invite me, or assign that team to me. Something. Please and thank you.
  25. Re-assigned after a solid spring showing of .348/.464/.391 (.856 OPS) in 23 ABs. 529 PA at AA last year, so I'm guessing it's Vegas, baby, for this dude.
