  1. Any of youse in attendance for the Friday night, '69 anniversary game? I'll be in tha house if anyone wants to say hi or knock back a cold bevvy.
  2. Healy: Hey Mick, want to see a picture of my new puppy? Callaway: What the fuck is that supposed to mean, smartass? Healy: It's just a puppy. It's cute. I thought you might... Callway: Fuck you and your cute puppy doggy style.
  3. Mickey did get the same question over and over from the beat guys, but I think part of it is the infuriating way he was "answering" the questions. Seriously, Mickey, what is the goddamn difference between 4 outs and 5? 4 outs and 24 outs, yeah, but the difference between 4 and 5 could be one pitch. Maybe yall are right and Diaz is hurting.

Callaway: Go fuck yourself, Tim. -------------------------------------------------------------------- Healey: Yo, Mick, have you seen the new Toy Story? Callaway: Yeah, I went with your mother, Douchebag. She didn't watch. -------------------------------------------------------------------- Healey: Thanks for your time, Mickey. Callaway: Yeah? How 'bout you come back and say that while you're eating my ass out, you fucking little shit! Holy shit, this got me good.
  5. He was the right idea, but not exactly the caliber of pitching depth I was hoping the Mets would acquire. Loved his spring interviews. He grew up a huge Mets fan, so I started pulling for him. But he has a pretty well established track record and the Mets got about what could've been expected, I'd say. Good luck, Hector!
  6. I think the SI photo is better, but I still like the Jet cover more overall, and would rather read that story. Also, I'm a sucker when there's a cover on a non-sports publication.
  7. Here's the "Should we talk about Robinson Cano" trade thread, where the initial idea was so laughable that none of us took it seriously. It reads like a horror movie scene that you know is gonna end in a grisly murder, but the Mets foolishly walk into the pitch-black basement anyway. http://www.thecranepool.net/phpBB/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=27564&hilit=Robinson+Canohttp://www.thecranepool.net/phpBB/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=27564&hilit=Robinson+Cano
  8. Hey guys, I have an odd question. Looking at the Citi seating chart, specifically section 109, and I'm not sure which rows are closest to the field D-E, or 1-6. I'm guessing D-E, but I'm not certain. Anyone know the answer to this? Please and thank you. https://www.mlb.com/mets/ballpark/seat-maphttps://www.mlb.com/mets/ballpark/seat-map
  9. Every time I see that cover, I wanna subscribe to McCall's.
  10. I started this stupid thread, but despite Mickey's shortcomings, this is a flawed team constructed by negligent ownership and an inexperienced GM who mortgaged the future to be mediocre NOW!!! Mickey ain't the the reason.

Adam Hill doing relatively well as a starter in the High-A Midwest League, going 4-2 with a 3.31 ERA in 32 2/3 innings, striking out 32 and walking 16. The Mets had used him only out of the pen the previous year in Brooklyn. Secondbaseman Feliz Valerio was impressive for the Mets in the DSL last season, and is in extended Spring Training now, waiting to join a short-season team in June. Borderline big-league reliever Bobby Wahl has yet to throw a pitch for the Brewers, sitting out with a knee injury. Thanks, Edge. Trade doesn't look lopsided in either direction, but agreed that you'd want to make every effort to see what a dude has if you traded 3 guys for him just a few months back. His walk% was down, his K% up and his ISO was non-existent but 53 PAs isn't a whole lot to tell what's what.
  12. Bummed the Broxton thing didn't work out, but it seemed a little ill-advised to begin with, for the reasons FK stated. Wonder how those 3 bums we traded for him are working out? Best of luck, Keon.
  13. If we were a AAA team, we would be way above average.
  14. Those are an excellent pair of fun facts.
  15. .270 / .329 / .500 line with 6 homers and 5 steals (5 caught, too) in 126 ABs at Syracuse. Not washed-up, has-been numbers. Show the people what you got, Gomez.
  16. Nah, Gary was talking about the Pads reliever Maton, and how the best way to know how to pronounce a name is to just ask the player. He then recalled when he first asked Familia how to pronounce his name and got the Jay-oooh--Reese response. Makes sense to just ask a dude rather than guess some shit.
  17. Hechiavarria has a weird release. Looks like he's chucking darts when he makes a throw across the diamond.
  18. I was very worried that not pinch-running for Ramos in the 7th was gonna screw us. Thankfully Andy Green returned the favor and left Warren in to face our 3-4-5 hitters in the 9th inning of a tie game. He'd already burned 4 relievers in the game, so I get it, but I'd want my stud against their studs in that spot. Thanks, Andy! Thanks, Pete!
  19. Frayed Knot wrote: So this Paddack guy's haircut: Intentional, or the result of some sort of industrial accident? I went to an Isotopes game the other night and the Rockies top prospect Brendan Rodgers has the same Achy-Breaky Heart mullet. It's back, yall.
  20. Sadly the Mets finished third for National League East team of the month.
  21. Ben something. That Olympic pitcher from LSU.
  22. Ron Darling looks like he needs to make a poop.
  23. It may have come from Mickey, but I'll bet those "ball just got away" lines are ingrained in young pitchers like a Nuke LaLoosh's canned line. Can't exactly say, "Yeah I was trying to hit him and missed". I'm still not pissed at Hoskins. His trot was slow to let Rhame know that he beat him, but given the two shots across the bow, I don't think it was overly anything.
