  1. The Dodgers are -180 favorites Mets +150 Thought it would be tighter Seriously. I'd be yelling "Call my bookie!" if I had a bookie to call.
  2. It's never too late to have an Expos-Sox 1994 World Series. Most of the key members of both teams are still with us.
  3. I'd like the booth to stop pronouncing it "Nemo". Just saying.
  4. Is anyone even up in the pen? Not that I'd pull Sevy just yet.
  5. =metirish post_id=174007 time=1728071196 user_id=72] Wow , curve ball
  6. We beat the Braves last week and have now advanced past them in the postseason. Maybe this is the year we conquer all our demons.
  7. 10/5. No more of this "give it your all and decimate your bullpen and then fly a thousand miles and do it again tomorrow" nonsense.
  8. I chose Royals, but I wouldn't mind seeing the Mets beat the Yankees in a WS.
  9. Guardians, of course. Though I'm not going to have many friends around here if there's a Mets-Guardians World Series.
  10. Peterson, I guess. Let's see if Marte Party can get us a tack-on here.
  11. Nice article in the Athletic: https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/5811414/2024/10/01/mets-brewers-wild-card-analysis?source=user-shared-articlehttps://www.nytimes.com/athletic/5811414/2024/10/01/mets-brewers-wild-card-analysis?source=user-shared-article If there's one thing that Mendoza has accomplished this year, it's killing the #LOLMets culture. A couple of years ago, nobody would have been surprised to see a bonehead play like Diaz forgetting to cover first base in the Braves game. This year, the Mets are the team that does more with less and doesn't have many brain farts. I don't have cable, so for post season games I need to find a bar in Cleveland that's showing the Mets or listen on the radio, so I got to hear Howie's calls last night. Sounded like a great game.
  12. Feels good to know that we won the game where both teams went all out, and they won the leftover game.
  13. Holmes can pitch a perfect game today. I'm good with that.
  14. Winker still not getting the start.
  15. Was in a 90 minute meeting from my home office trying to watch the game and messaging back and forth with the other Mets fan at the meeting. I completely missed the 8th after the Taylor and Iglesias doubles. Saw Marte's single in the 9th, had to look away, and when I looked back and saw the bases were clear my first thought was "oh, shit, they must have caught Marte trying to steal". Because, well, Mets vs Braves. But, [MetsBlue]Y[/MetsBlue][MetsOrange]E[/MetsOrange][MetsBlue]A[/MetsBlue][MetsOrange]H[/MetsOrange]!
  16. Looks like Taylor wants to play tomorrow, even if nobody else is interested.
  17. Wasn't that for Pete? Not that it made sense either way. JD Martinez, professional hitter.
  18. Benjamin Grimm wrote: Why did the organist play Everyone Knows It's Windy for Vientos? Viento= wind in Spanish. Also, Candy Man for Lindor, I think. Acuña has been riding a lot of pine since Lindor got healthy. He's played CF in the minors. But I guess for a game like this, you go with the veterans.
  19. Interestingly, the Braves can't play the Brewers in the first round. They either get the #5 seed or the boot.
  20. =Marshmallowmilkshake post_id=172466 time=1727647952 user_id=119] So if the Mets and Braves split, both teams make the playoffs and the Diamondbacks go home? Wow.
