  1. You cut in line to post a picture of a Yankee fan and a Yankee? You suck Rogers.
  2. Do you have to be a Met? Whatever, we can start our own club. You want in Cal? Technically, I don't qualify... On Edit: Damn.
  3. Same way Jeff Kent does.
  4. "In Indiana, it's well known that Centerfield is dumb."
  5. Other than having never been in my kitchen I've got nothing.
  6. Kris Benson next. Should be no shortage of inneresting photos out there for that one.
  7. Paul LoDuca?
  8. Carreon it is. Who are you Willets?
  9. This is getting out of control. With his team down 2, 2 on, with 2 outs in the 9th, A-Rod hits a 3 run HR and the Yanks finish the sweep of the Indians. Ok. I think he's made his point. It's ok with me if A-Rod starts sucking now.
  10. Of course, maybe his dad tried and he was just too much of a wayward son.
  11. I am one of the few Mets (along with Cleon Jones and Rickey Henderson) to throw with my left hand but bat from the right side at the plate. You'd think my dad would have taught me better.
  12. Do some people call you Maurice (Mo) Vaughn?
  13. Am I the only one that reads these stats to mean that we should expect more runs to score because we have been lucky so far?
  14. I didn't see '71 Seaver either (born in '75). My rationale was that I would be more inclined to take a player I had seen play over a player whose performance I can only base on stats. So where as Viola and Koos may have been similar pitchers, (similar W/L, both ERA's about a run below league averate), I'm more inclined to take the guy I saw. Those who saw his performance in the '69 World Series might be more inclined to take Jerry. On a related note, I had always suspected I would take '85 Keith over Olerud because my memory of him was that he was fantastic that year. But looking at the numbers, I realized taking him over Olerud would be foolish. Besides, as far as lineup goes, I can't think of anyone pre-1983 other than '70 Agee who might possibly crack that lineup.
  15. My rotation is obviously skewed by those I got the chance to watch in person. Some of that can be seen by my taking '71 Seaver over his '69 counterpart. All the numbers suggest Seaver was better in '71, but fans who were around in '69 say the Franchise was at his best that year.
  16. Oh, and my rotation would be: Dwight Gooden (1985) Tom Seaver (1971) David Cone (1988) Frank Viola (1990) Pedro (2005)
  17. Some good numbers in 2006 lead to changes in my All-Time Mets lineup: 1. Jose Reyes (2006) SS 2. Edgardo Alfonzo (2000) 2B 3. John Olerud (1998) 1B 4. Mike Piazza (2000) C 5. Carlos Beltran (2006) CF 6. Darryl Strawberry (1987) RF 7. David Wright (2006) 3B 8. Bernard Gilkey (1996) LF Prior to last year, I would have led off with 1996 Lance Johnson, put 1989 HoJo in the middle somewhere, and I guess I would have gone with 2005 Reyes near the bottom of the lineup. Your mileage may vary.
  18. A-Rod sure is doing better now that he got himself out of that pressure-cooker that is New York. I knew he would relax and be himself with his new team. It just goes to show you some people can't handle New York.
  19. Technically, it counts. 4/17/07 Mets 8, Phillies 1
  20. Jay Bell scores the winning run in Game 7 of the 2001 World Series ending the MFY dynasty.
  21. I wonder if he was aiming at the outfielder and then had to pretend he was aiming at the other fan because he was too embarrassed to admit he missed by such a large margin.
  22. Glavine 3 Reyes 3 Alou 2 Schoeneweis .5 Smith .5 Wagner .5 Wright .5
  23. I wish "Yankees Suck" would stop being a time-honored tradition. We went further than they did last year. They should be chanting about how we suck.
  24. Not good times for bespectacled relievers. On the bright side, only 41 more games until Guillermo Mota returns.
  25. If this is the case, I don't see why anyone but Tom Glavine should be called upon as a pinch hitter in a bunting situation (unless of course, he is pitching). There is no one better at laying down a sacrifice bunt. And should he be unsuccessful, send up a position player to swing away. You don't lose any more bodies than you would by using your position player in the first place. On the plus side, you utilize a better bunter, and you save a body if he is successful. I guess a drawback would be that everyone one know that the bunt is coming...but in most of those situations, the opposition knows it anyway.
