  1. People don't return from "pops" quickly. I suspect Easley is done for the year. Saw the replay when I came home, it looked like he swung at ball 4.
  2. But down 6, it's probably too little too late. Every loss Houston suffers takes one team further away from the Wild Card hunt.
  3. Then you'll have to explain to me why Luis Castillo batted as the tying run in the ninth on Sunday.
  4. It was in Washington last year that I first felt like they may blow the damn thing. I dub tonight a BIG GAME.
  5. I'm convinced that if you asked my three year old what "FUCK!" means, he'd say "the Mets are losing".
  6. Great post soupcan. I don't know that I've ever agreed with anything more.
  7. Astros were creeping to within striking distance for the Wild Card. The loss last night puts them two games back (three back of the Mets). As it is right now, we have four teams vying for two spots.
  8. I remember thinking that during most of September, then actively rooting for it late afternoon, September 30. I hate 2007.
  9. Pretty big game tonight. It would do a lot for the psyche to win tonight, with 17 games left to play.
  10. No for real, where is Claudio Vargas?
  11. AG/DC wrote: Thing about Grace is that through much of his career, his game had a Keith Hernandez-type refinement, and it's still shocking to see that behind the game isn't a Keith-type mind, but a big galoot. Exactly. I was shocked to discover how dumb he was. I just assumed he was smart while he was playing. On a somewhat related note, I'm also surprised how dumb Lee Mazzilli is now that I hear him speak on a nightly basis.
  12. Looks like the Phils will miss Sabathia.
  13. And that Slingbox commercial where Gorman strikes out.
  14. I had no confidence in the 2007 team, either to make the playoffs, or to do anything when they reached it.
  15. So is my blender.
  16. Good OoTS.
  17. 's ok. Phils are losing. I'll take that.
  18. Brewers load the bases with no one out in the 8th. Bad bad OoTS.
  19. Milwaukee would throw CC Sabathia twice in a 5 game series. A small part of me would rather see Philly take the Wild Card over the Brewers.
  20. Wow. My brother hasn't given me a wedding gift yet and we celebrated 10 years last July.
  21. I don't think you can name a thread "Legendary Hotness" and not include Lynda Carter.
  22. Olerud in '98. Seemed like he was 2 for 3 with a walk every night.
  23. I'm completely indifferent about the apple. If the new park didn't have one, I probably wouldn't have noticed.
  24. That story is interesting. It reveals that the tear took place on Saturday, and that he was rehabbing even though they were aware that the forearm was increasing the stress on the ligament. If this is true, it's colossally irresponsible on behalf of the Mets. Wagner was under contract for next season. Now they need to fill the closer role. They better not repeat this mistake with Maine.
  25. The way Delgado's swinging, you could move the fences back 50 feet and it wouldn't make any difference. Amazing.
