  1. Sure. I gave up on the season a while ago. But coming into this series, I thought maybe if they beat the MFYs and put their division hopes to bed, maybe we can get some small sense of joy from this season. Lackluster play. Shitty hitting. Really. Just fuck these guys.
  2. Fuck these Mets. I'll be glad when this season is over. I can't remember being so disappointed in a Mets team. I know there were injuries and shit but this team looks so dickless and weak.
  3. Wonder if that is the end of Jose Reyes Met career.
  4. Dumbest run ever.
  5. Fuck Gsellman. Never liked his I'm too cool to care attitude. Care. And get better.

  7. Can now be traded. According to multiple sources. To me, this is just shocking. If you can (or at least have a chance) to get Stanton for nothing other than money, it's shocking that no one would claim him. And not necessarily the Mets, who have corner outfielders already, but the Yankees, or Dodgers, or someone rebuilding like Philly.

Have to muster up more than that against Cessa and the pen. My post was more: 1. Frustrated venting. 2. Realization that if we ever get good again, and have options in the pen, I certainly don't want Terry Collins managing them. Nice guy. Time for him to go.

I cannot wait for Teufel or Geren or Lopez or literally anyone else to start managing this team. Hicks led off that inning and was a switch-hitter. Not sure who y'all wanted in there instead of Robles but Judge was up next so if it was going to be Blevins so as to turn Hicks around it likely would have been a one batter outing. Then came the lefty Gregorius, then the righty Sanchez so I'm open to hearing alternate scenarios for that inning. I'd tend to blame the fact that we essentially went hitless after the back-to-back HRs. I didn't know Hicks was a switch hitter. So that makes it less of an obvious decision. But still a switch that has to be made. Robles has been pretty good since he's been back. But he doesn't have enough pitches to mix it up, and I think leaving him in for a second inning is pushing your luck. Especially in that ballpark. It was like a carbon copy of the Colorado game, where he was able to get through one inning, but in his second inning of work, they got to him. Everyone in my house groaned as soon as they saw Robles out there to start the second inning. It looks like Edgy felt that too. Sewald has been our most reliable reliever all season. The obvious move is to start the inning with him. Sure, he pitched Sunday, but was off Saturday and has hardly been overworked. I suspect Terry was holding out Sewald and trying to stretch Robles because of the "you don't pitch your closer in a tie game on the road" rule. It's stupid. This four game series was a chance to give us some ray of sunshine in this otherwise miserable season. Fuck Terry and fuck 2017. If I were managing, Ramos would have pitched the 8th against the heart of the order. Then mix and match the rest of the way, starting with my best relievers. But I know that this is so far from convention that it's hard to ask that of anyone.

Which i generally feel, too, but i just find the design and direction of ALIEN to be extraordinary, so it really transcends the horror elements. It's been playing recently so I flipped to it after Robles gave up the HR last night. It really stands the test of time. I forgot how lighthearted everyone is at the dinner scene just before the alien explodes out of Kane. And the way they were able to portray the crew as just regular working people. So good. And even after you've seen it many times, it's still terrifying. Less so than watching Robles try to navigate a second inning of work, but still terrifying.
  11. Everyone in the stadium knew that a second inning of Robles was a bad idea.
  12. Because 2017 can't give us one good night. Not even one. Fuck this.
  13. Blevins up and available. Whenever I start thinking maybe Terry deserves another year he does something like this.
  14. We will be tonight. What's the over/under on the runs Montero will surrender in the first two innings? I'm guessing 5.
  15. dgwphotography wrote: I have to tip my hat to this guy - he still posted it on his twitter account, and he's kept it there. Some people will post anything to get hits/attention. I don't know. Something off about that video. A real fan (1) probably isn't taking a selfie video there, and (2) lets the camera drop as soon as that ball takes flight.
  16. He’s from South Carolna, you know, that’s one of the states where these awesome patriots all live! Yeah, you know, you can tell, cause they got that neat-o flag with the big X on it. Man that thing is cool! Oh, OK, so that’s a Confederate flag. I like it, good name! Absolutely within the realm of possibility.
  17. And sometimes it is literally a player who has no name and one is selected for him later. Typically these players hail from Bravos.
  18. So as I understand it, a player can be traded in August if and only if he clears waivers. Waivers means he's offered up to every team (who would then have to take on his salary) but then the team gets the player for nothing. If every team passed on, say Jay Bruce, for nothing, why would they then make a trade and give up anything?
  19. Yeah, at this point it's silly to not bring him up.
  20. A bit more on Ryder Ryan. First of all, how often must peeps see this guy's name written out and mentally put the comma in there while assuming it's Ryan Ryder? In fact, I think we need to call him Ryan Comma Ryder ... 'Comma' for short Anyway, according to BA, he was actively scouted as a HS'er but teams backed off because it was assumed he was going to follow a scholarship offer to UNC, hence the 40th round Hail Mary choice by Cleveland. But his career at UNC turned out to be not much as "he made only one appearance in two seasons (failing to record an out) before leaving the team". Injuries? ... Discipline? BA offers no details here, but that kind of college record doesn't exactly boost the old draft stock. Whatever the reason, when he left UNC after two years (he was older than his class in HS and so was a draft-eligible sophomore) the Indians grabbed him again in 2016, in the 30th round this time. BA: "After making some delivery tweaks, Ryan is touching 97 mph and sitting 94-95 out of the bullpen. He shows an ability to elevate and jam hitters with his heater. His slider is less developed and his control, while improved, has further refinement to come." This description kinda reminds me of Akeel Morris, that single A guy that got lit up in Miami, then got traded to the Braves for Kelly Johnson II. So this sounds like maybe he's got a bit more upside than the skeletal background suggests, even if it's still a long way and a lot of steps from being realized.

  22. Makes no sense. If this is the return you just hold him and offer the QO. You know the big winner here? Jay Bruce. Who is now unrestricted this offseason. I wonder what those Yankee prospects were. If they were better than what we got we should have taken that deal. Was Dilson not available?
  23. Are you sick of all that winning messing up your draft position? My name is Rafael Montero, and I'm here to make those wins history! Call me today at the number below...
  24. When I saw the three run HR, I was thinking this might be one of those games where people say Montero is getting better because he didn't give up any more runs, after initially allowing lots of runs. Turns out it's not one of those games.
