  1. Was cold.
  2. Robles kinda looks like Beltran when batting. Until he swings.
  3. Good job by Robles there to limit the damage. Feel like Plawecki should call his off speed pitches more. Let’s score 20.
  4. Oh good. Robles in. Things should settle down now.
  5. So I actually gave myself a glimmer of hope when he took the mound. “Maybe if he shows us something here he can be a lefty option out of the pen.” Um. Nope.
  6. How the fuck is Conlon the best option we have. That alone should tell you all you need to know about Anderson’s farm system.
  7. Agreed. Just goes to show you that there are things all of us can agree on.
  8. Wheeler is terrible. ERA over 5. WHIP around 1.5.
  9. Vargas and Wheeler cannot start anymore.
  10. It’s pretty well determined that the Mets could have brought back better talent had they eaten salary. They chose not to. They could have had better talent this winter but elected to sign Vargas.
  11. Some prioritize talent. Some prioritize dumping salary. We know which category the Mets fall into.
  12. If any quality is found there, it’s by accident. The intent wasn’t to get talent. It was to unload salary. If any of them turn into anything it will be fortuitous.
  13. Ramos sucking is the least surprising thing in the world.
  14. If I ever have more kids I’m naming them all Nimmo.

  16. He is awesome. And not only can he get on base, I feel like as he gets regular playing time, his power will emerge. This shots he hits are bombs, his exit velocity is terrific. It really is maddening that half the team had to drop dead before he got regular playing time.
  17. Still can’t believe Nimmo is a real person. What are the chances the Mets could produce a home grown player that is even more “Aw shucks”-y than David Wright.
  18. What a terrific game. As complete a victory as I can remember. Maybe Matz can get some consistency.
  19. A Boy Named Seo wrote: we're prob fucked. Lets go Mets! This should be, like, our motto.
  20. It reminded me of the Braves series the first week of May. I went to the first game, and no sooner had a sat down, then the Braves took a 3-0 lead. It's early, I said, and there is plenty of time to get those back. The Mets not only failed to score, three runs that game, they failed to register three for the entire series. Combined score that series, Braves 21, Mets 2.
  21. Benjamin Grimm wrote: I enjoyed the spark he provided when he first came up in 1985, but it didn't take long before it became apparent that he was a jerk. Of course I rooted for him, we were trying to win a World Series, after all, but I never liked him. There were a lot of people who liked him because he was a jerk. I can guess who they voted for in 2016. I liked him a lot as a kid. Didn't realize he was a jerk until well afterwards.

This booing contingent would never recognize something like that. In 2005, Carlos Beltran played with a broken face, and fans still booed him. It just makes me so mad.
