The problem with dinosaur barbeque is that it can do serious damage to your car. https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgJuXNldwUL8zwamReX_RTWunAbKp8fMbt0PR_totnowWcCZxTswgNYETLgEMaopeNuTwZQ7Pdc6sDEHYJipJCyEB6wbyIbzasps7HdBCj98Vm8UT7zDbuiLGiuSPbCDmNeh-h7fYo3Q6MD/w640-h426/Dino+BBQ.png> I think of this literally every time I hear the name.
  2. Was flipping back and forth between the game and the DNC. Have to say, it was a great night of TV! Brazoban. Yeah. Hope you like Dinosaur BBQ.

Edgy MD wrote: What really impresses me is when, after he makes an out — even sometimes after he looks bad — as the next batter digs in, he sometimes grabs the on-deck guy and the guy in the hole, huddles them up and tells them what he's just learned about the pitcher. Ron Darling has called this out a few times too. Really a sign of great character. Like Beltran before him, I think the criticism stings him. I hate that some of us can't see the greatness right before our eyes.
  4. Ever since the Mets got back into it, I thought this would be our "make or break" road trip. Unfortunately the Padres and DBacks aren't realistically in range right now. Even if we swept the Pads, we'd be a game and a half out. I guess it's still a big series in that we need all the wins we can get, and we're playing two teams that have been on fire.
  5. I tell you. I won't miss this pitching staff in 2025.
  6. And Vientos with yet another play that needs to be made.
  7. Nice effort with the juggling. But that ball has to be caught.

And while the averages cited for 12 w/0 outs vs 23 w/one are accurate they're also generic (and small) so don't, for instance, take a pulled in infield into consideration or that the Mets top two hitters were due up. Bunting there wasn't the only move but it wasn't an unreasonable one especially with Lindor/Vientos coming up afterward. Poor execution on the bunt coupled with a 400+ foot out foiled the strategy, not merely the decision itself.
  9. Why is Brazoban pitching in high leverage situations
  10. Good arm for the Marlins today. Kid has made 5 starts. Scoreless in 3 of them. Only one bad start against the Red Sox. WHIP under 1.00
  11. There are so many exceptions it would be a clusterfuck of a rule. The blister situation. A guy who's on a pitch count coming back from injury. I don't see how it could work. If MLB really wanted to promote length from their starting pitcher, the only practical way I can see to do it is to tie your DH to the starter. Jose Quintana starts the game. JD Martinez is his DH. So long as Quintana is in the game, so is Martinez. If he gets taken out, Martinez is similarly out of the game. The next time the DH spot comes up, the hitter represents the current pitcher. If Martinez spot comes up while Reed Garret is pitching, now you bat Ben Gamel. He's tied to Garret the rest of the way. In other words, not every reliever gets a DH, but every DH turn at bat is tied to the current pitcher.
  12. Also. I'm pretty sure the Mets never win the day camp game. Year after year. Send the kids home miserable while Yankee fans laugh.
  13. At the end. This team is just not good enough. Wish they had collapsed earlier so we could have sold. Farm system is still pretty thin.
  14. You have to wonder. Was there a concussion scare earlier in the year? I feel like he got a HBP sometime, though I may be making that up.
  15. Yeah. I'm not watching tonight. See you guys tomorrow.
  16. Really? 3-0 to the A's? Awful.
  17. Ok. I'm out. Normally I hate off days after a loss, but this team could use a week off or so.
  18. Stanek was garbage. Ridiculous to leave him in.
  19. How is there a bullpen roster crunch when Stanek is still on the team
  20. Rude of McNeil to interrupt the booth by hitting a HR. I'm sorry George. You were saying?
