  1. Very eager to see Mr. Niese going up against this lineup.
  2. Was this the game broadcast on SNY that I skipped past without a second thought? it looked like there were about 12 people in attendance.
  3. Russell Martin Garrett Anderson Reed Johnson Casey Blake Blake Dewitt LA leads the league in "guys whose first name can easily serve as a last name".
  4. Somewhat of a throw-away line in there, but it's info I did not know: why are laptops not allowed in the dugout? Not to go all green on y'all, but why do they have these enormous binders when all that could fit in one tiny laptop?

  6. Cornwall, NY, up in Orange county. No go on Brooke or Kaitlyn. I've already explained to him the potential for clubhouse distractions. That's Brooke with her head down in the middle.
  7. I think there was a little league thread going somewhere but I couldnt find it. If someone wants to merge, feel free. Anyhow, we had our little league parade last saturday. Here is little Solo on the right, in a photo from the town paper web site. In the background you can see my gut in the blue windbreaker. The Tee-6 Dodgers are looking good. We've got a team full of kids who can sting the ball.
  8. Let's not be knocking WFUV guys.
  9. A normal win we put it in the books. What do we do with this one? Put it in the encyclopedias?
  10. I take it back, Jake. You smacking that single off Mather probably means that you could, indeed, get a hit off my grandmother.
  11. Pujols up second. Pitch to him with Lohse up next?
  12. With an endorsement from a real live "baseball blayer". Did no one else think this was a little fishy? Poor, slow, mechanical swing, yet I'm supposed to believe he's hitting 85mph fastballs? And the fielding...lots of cuts before and after he's catching the ball. hard to make a determination. I know it's probably just the cynic in me, but Was this video released on April 1? We sure this isn't a Sidd Finch thing?
  13. Ceetar wrote: I particularly like that one. Michael Kay's an idiot, and the show would be much better if they let Don laGreca speak more. (YES might be better, despite him, if they had a regular set of hosts.) He's not great, but at least he's a Mets fan (as is Bonnie) and a wee big more honest. (and there more since Kay misses half his own show anyway) And actually watches the games. Kay only watches the games that happen to be on when he's not working, which is rare, so he just feeds off the lame media buzz to get his 'news' anyway. You'll notice I've listened a lot more to them, especially lately as they've had decent interviews and Francesa's talking NCAA a week after it's over, or 4 hours of horse racing or something. And therein lies the reason I listen to 1050 more than before...Francesa is probably better than Kay (imo) but Lagreca makes Kay's show much more listenable. Francesa could use a guy like LaGreca on his show, just for a change of pace. But since FAN's stable of hosts is laughably un-listenable, that guy is not there right now. Plus who's the guy in FAN with the cojones to tell Mike that he needs a right-hand man?
  14. I don't like the call to the booth gimmick. Emails and texts are fine. Kay has a right in his role on 1050 to an opinion. And even though I agree about the gimmick, he comes across as a bit of a Yankee-fan jerk here. I also don't get his assertion on "giving up". Taking calls from fans is giving up? Please 'splain. ON EDIT: from the photo above, when did Kay become a doppelganger for Collin Montgomerie?

Benjamin Grimm wrote: I seem to remember Keith Hernandez saying that hitters would exchange tips with each other, and so would pitchers, but you wouldn't see hitters and pitchers talking like that. So either things have changed, or Francoeur is some kind of a maverick. Weird. Keith lived it, not me, but it seems odd (and a little wrong) that you would exchange tips with hitters on other teams and not pitchers on your own team.
  16. I see they got Pelf on a balk. Please tell me it wasn;t one of those "falling off the mound" balks.
