  2. Almost as devastating as what Jim Leyritz did to Wohlers.
  3. One of my dad's favorites. So long, Duke.
  4. Lots of folks high on the Orioles, but I don't see them making an astronomical jump. 54 games against BOS, TAM, NYY. They're at best the fourth best in that division, and I'm pretty sure Toronto will finish ahead of them as well. UNDERS - Marlins, Reds, Tigers OVERS - Mariners, Brewers, Giants I also think the Mets will be an over and top last year's win totals.
  5. I believe that is NCAA selection Sunday, and I get all geeky about the bubble and the selection. So I'm a likely no.

Hopefully all he's doing here is giving Bob a vote of confidence as the second best reliever. Pretty much. Take heart, kiddos-- Collins discusses pen usage. It's just words, yes... but nice ones. I think "I truly believe" has the potential to become Collins' "You know what I'm sayin'?"
  7. John Gibbons, who Ricciardi would later hire to manage his Blue Jays.

Carlos Beltran = 20 (??) Reading that guy's Cone piece, I think it's safe to say Ed Hearn won't be cracking his Royals top 100.

  11. "Who?" was the first thing to spring to mind. So, limited expectations.
  12. Just to throw some more fat on the fire...does anyone think that maybe Saul knew something about Madoff, but that Fred and Jeff were left in the dark? Or is that too ridiculous to ponder?
  13. Three different catchers hit walk-off HRs, the Thole one happening in the last week or so of the season.
  14. "Amazing, amazing, amazing!"

They said at first that you the fans were voting to select the Top 20. Now it's framed as their expert panel and you, too. I wonder if the fan vote was considered not up to snuff. I kind of figured it wasn't "the fans" who voted the Marlins-Giants NLDS Game 4 from 2003 into the Top 20. With MLBN's Kevin Millar joining Verducci and Costas. You know, Mr. Cowboy Up's schtick is somewhat tolerable in small doses, but a full hour of him had me almost rooting for Dave Roberts to be called out. Almost.

  18. The face shows up even at bat!
  19. We'll accept any answer except "wife".
  20. Is he bringing the chick in the blueish-green dress with him?
  21. That looks like a pic of a guy goofing around at an Astros Fantasy Camp.
  22. 64 - I'll guess Jeff Manto, though I have no recollection of him being in Spring Training with the Mets.
  23. 60 - Fernando Vina?
