  1. Maybe they'll throw Coleman a bone and give him the slot next to Howie finally? Not that I advocate this, but thinking it might be a reward for sticking around so long.
  2. The kid in front of Turner must be thinking, "Where's my Mets shirt, Danny Claus??"
  3. It's the 03 Marlin, not the 03 Cub.
  4. Is it wrong that I get douche chills thinking about Rubin's Muffy/David/Ike/Bay/Duda L/R/L/R/L two through six in the lineup? Stay healthy guys (and don't suck as much Jason) please.

  6. I went 700s. Three full seasons would get him to the 470s (486 if he played 162 games in each of those three years). I know three full years is no guarantee, but crazier things have happened. To hit 700 from there he'd only have to average 80+ games in the other three years.

Contemplate how much talent that quartet could bring back in deals. How much the Mets could expedite their rebuilding." I don't think it brings back nearly the haul that Davidoff seems to imply.
  9. 2006 game vs. Dodgers at Shea. Jose sparks the win with an inside the park home run. The division lead was wide, and nothing but good things lay ahead.

  11. We can vote even if we're not in it, right?
  12. batmagadanleadoff wrote: What should be done if, say, Bagwell gets in on this ballot, and then it later becomes known that he was a steroid user? Just askin'. I'd vote for him if I had a vote. And Raines, Larkin, Trammell and Martinez the DH. I don't know what would be done (probably nothing). I bet that's what a lot of voters are thinking, so I would be unsurprised if Bagwell didn't get in at least this year. And I'm with you 100% on who you'd put in.
  13. MGiM forgot to include him in a St Patrick's Day note regarding all Metly Pats and Patricks. That's all I got.

  15. I'm OK with fair/foul replays. For the most part, we can get a replay that is pretty definitive (OK maybe not when the ball travels OVER the pole, but most of the time). Catches/traps are a bit tougher. I swear there are some replays I see where one angle looks definitely like a catch and another it appears to be a trapped ball. Also what about the balls that hit the glove and bounce up, giving it the appearance of being a trap. I say nay on the catch/trap replay.

  17. I like that. Would they wear blue caps with black jerseys? Doubt it.
  18. Good thinking about Carter. If not Piazza, then who for the 90s? Alfonzo, Franco, Leiter?
  19. 70s: Tug 80s: Straw 90s: Piazza 00s: Wright
  20. http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news?slug=ti-brown_hardball_scott_boras_madson_phillies_111011 According to this, and I'm not sure who you want to believe, the Madson thing was never official.
  21. I'll chip in for a higher OPS.
  22. Buckner got to the ball, though. This wasn't a sharply-hit ball down the line or in the hole he couldn't reach. He got in position, and missed it.
  23. Best: McReynolds Worst: Kranepool
  24. Watched the beginning to hear Costas say that due to developments during production (I guess some of the stuff Johnny McNamara said?) they would only cover the World Series and not the Playoffs. I kinda wanted to hear what Mike Scott had to say.
  25. Nice of Jose to show up at Manny's tailgate in the second to last photo.
