  2. Slight tangent and I'm in full-on "why don't they make the whole plane out of the black box" territory but if MLB really wanted to do something about pace of play and the length of games, they'd make every contest a midweek getaway day game.
  3. I also thought we left behind the "Mets crap the bed in Atlanta" theme when they abandoned Turner Field.
  4. Another day that ends in a Y...Mets hitless through 3, meanwhile F. Freeman has an RBI. 1-0 Braves bottom 3.
  5. Yeah, who will replace him is surely the big hole in my argument (it won't be Reyes).
  6. And if and when Sandy goes, they're just going to promote from within anyway.

Rosario free shirt friday is the 22nd. Is it fair to worry that they'd keep him and his .619 OPS around until then? I mean, he's gotta get sent down doesn't he?
  8. Not one out either. Come on Reyes.
  9. Swarzak’s fitting right in with this bullpen
  10. The only thing with the Nationals game is that they got them back the exact same way two nights later. Maybe to me that felt like a push. Surely there have been plenty of losses to choose from, but if they won the Lagares no-catch game (sorry to keep harping on this one) they'd have been 16-7 and would have won that series. Including that game they've gone 12-25 since.
  11. To me the season turned that gay dame in St. Lou where Lagares lost what should have been the final out in extra innings. Just felt like a lot of good mojo ended there.
  12. I think Nimmo should hold off on any vacation plans July 16-17-18. He may be busy.
  13. One small correction, Conforto shirt night is tomorrow.
  14. And Sewald coughs up a lead off double
  15. We’re benefiting from a Vargas-like effort from Sanchez.
  16. Ugh another runner stranded at third
  17. Dickey 2012?
  18. Now I’m even more pissed with the umpires about squeezing Gselly there
  19. I suspect Gselly is upset about not only ball 4 but also balls 2 and 3 as well. Blue totally squeezed him there.
  20. Not that blown saves are a tell-all stat, but four blown saves before the end of May is awfully concerning for Familia.
  21. Does Dietrich have like a .950 OBP against us this year?
  22. Just tuning in...is Bruce out of the lineup just because it’s a lefty and Bautista got to the park in time, or did something else happen?

Because X-rays are looking for a break in a bone in the toe, which there isn't in this case. He did subsequently undergo an MRI which showed, in addition to a hyper-extended toe (lots of hyper-extending going on lately), "a complete tear of the big toe plantar plate, a ligament" (DiComo - mlb.com). And them ligament things don't heal so quick. I get that, it's just that they were so fast to let everyone know the x-rays were negative after the game (Apple and Figgy were announcing it on the post-game). Gotta remember not to take that as the final word from now on.
