  1. It’s pretty ugly here. This won’t be a short delay I don’t think.
  2. I’m behind enemy lines in the ballpark. Hot as hell in Philly today.
  3. A guy in left who’s never played the outfield? Wilmer should be at first and Bats in left. Wilmer can wait for his day off
  4. Smith's been almost exclusively an OF since he's gone back down to Vegas right? Maybe that's all we need to know about his future prospects at 1B in Queens?
  5. John Cougar Lunchbucket wrote: its because Matz sucks. Don't trade him, they all said. he's finally got it together, they said. This guy's entire career has been a shitshow, interrupted by fleeting moments of success, and its never been the other way around. Fuck Matz. Clearly we are on the same frequency, because I could not have said this better myself.
  6. I blame Mickey for batting him sixth
  7. Nimmo is hot (How hot? He's 1982-Phoebe-Cates hot) right now. So yes, please Mickey, do bat him sixth.
  8. The “lost the ball in the transfer” thing I think should be looked at. Not that it’s a bad thing, but how it’s being interpreted. It seems like all that is necessary is for the ball to just go in the glove, no possession needed. That’s what drives you nuts. Andujar did NOT catch that ball
  9. We need nfl officials here. No way would they call that a catch.
  10. That shouldn’t be an out. No way
  11. Counterpoint: Olbermanns been the most entertaining ESPN baseball PBP guy since I dont know when.
  12. Fman99 wrote: These ESPN announcers are hacks. Also, apparently Frazier wanted to wear #21 as a MFY because his childhood favorite was Paul O'Neill, and then when he got to the Bronx they would not let him have it. Because, as we know, the Yankees are all fucking assholes. I’m actually enjoying Olbermann; Petez and Kirkjian have nails-on-chalkboard voices.
  13. Noah’s the best: Booth: “Noah you looking forward to going to Williamsport?” Noah: “Yeah as long as they don’t have Hand, Foot, and Mouth disease.” Hahahahaha
  14. Too long to review and inconclusive. Yet it gets overturned
  15. McNeil gets the error but Frazier imo made a weak throw to try and start the DP
  16. The numbers for the Mets at home are pretty inept: .214/.291/.341 for a whopping .632 OPS. Also, despite playing seven more games at Citi Field than away from home, the road Mets are out-homering the home Mets 67-49; and out-doubling them 104-80. So what's the explanation... Injuries? I might buy that but their performance on the road has been better (.741 OPS to .632). Bad luck? Maybe, but 61 games is no longer a super-small sample size. So I ask you, CPF, why can't the Mets hit at home?
  17. Can't believe no thread on this one yet. I'll be making my initial excursion into enemy territory this Saturday. Any suggestions from folks who have been? I'll be with the family. Planning to do a little touristy stuff earlier in the day before first pitch at 3:05. Our hotel is near City Hall. Looks like we can take Septa to the ballpark. Postgame dinner suggestions also welcome.

  20. Brett
  21. I do feel that once the wild card game has been settled that the #1 seed should play the remaining team with the worst record, whether that is a division winner or wild card. In this instance* the Sox would be in line to face the Indians in the best of 5 rather than the MFYs. *if playoffs started today
  22. 1:50 PM and its already the bottom of the seventh. MLB doesn't have a pace of play problem, just make all games midweek afternoon getaway days.
  23. O’s knock off Sonny Gray today. Stuff that (probably) only I find fascinating: Baltimore has only won 13 games away from Camden Yards all season. 6 of those have come within the New York City limits.
  24. Wheeler's been great. I still have no faith in his staying healthy for the long term, so I would definitely consider moving him If I could, because I think his value will never be higher.
  25. Thanks to Mickeys curious lineup we get an all-too-predictable whiff from Rosario instead of some Nimmo magic.
