  1. He tossed a ball to little Solo during BP at PNC Park before the Sunday night game there.

  3. I'm sure Jeff would screw this up by plastering a sponsor's name all over the cart, but for nostalgia's sake I'd be happy to see the return of the bullpen ride.
  4. What I've read so far is that this only deals with "on field" uniform. Which is great, but not seeing anything official that they can't sell merch with the chief on it, or that you won't see it on signage, etc. So not totally sure that the logo is totally going away.
  5. Schulman to Vasgersian is a step backwards IMO.
  6. I went with other. I think Sandy could zig us while we're expecting a zag. My hunch has not revealed Sandys zig however.
  7. I can be convinced that Hoffman may have been better than Wagner, but not as big of a gap as 78% to 9% would indicate.
  8. Like. Particularly the terms. Hopefully this isn't it, and there's more to come.
  9. Perhaps Corey Hart is the Rico Brogna of the Brewers?
  10. I'll try Tom Kelly for the Twinkies statue
  11. Thanks to the hints, I have numerous guesses. Pepper Martin for the Cardinals.
  12. I'm really confused. What was the Pedro one?
  13. Metly connection Twin: Gardenhire.
  14. Billy Martin for the Twin with Yankee connections?
  15. Benjamin Grimm wrote: Young Eddie looking a lot like young Mark Teixeira in this pic.
  16. Need a ruling on my Jeter guess. And while we are here... controversial SF Giant -- Barry Bonds?
  17. The Yankee is Jeter right? Rose's HOF induction was cancelled shortly after news of his promiscuity with underage girls as a player broke.
  18. Could you update who we're still looking for? Twins HOF -- Torii Hunter?
  19. batmagadanleadoff wrote: How the hell do you defend this record? Why aren't the Mets outspending most of MLB's other teams every ... single ... season? If they don't have the money, then the ownership is incompetent. If the Mets do have the money, then the owners are cheap. Why not both?
  20. The rescinded HOF honor was the Phillies/Pete Rose.
  21. I believe the Doc one-hitter was the Friday night in September, their last gasp at the division.
  22. G-Fafif wrote: Mets won a Friday night game at Shea, Doc starting to become Doc; Sisk started being Sisk that Saturday in a close game that got away by a lot; and then a doubleheader sweep on Sunday at the hands of the Cubs. A little over a week later, there was a four-game sweep at Wrigley in the wrong direction. Mets scuffled to stay viable for the rest of August, but it definitely slipped through Mets hands over the course of those two series, sort of the opposite of what happened when the Mets swept the two series from the Nats in 2015. Before there was time for wounds to fester, Gary Carter was acquired, so 1984 looks nothing but golden in retrospect. Would have been nice to have held off the Cubs, though. That Saturday game still stings. Mets had a 4 1/2 game lead and Darling had matched Sutcliffe (this was Sutcliffe's Cy Young year) through seven innings. Sisk and I think Gaff blew up in relief.
