  1. Wilmer started at first base for Binghamton last night and went 2-3. Later
  2. His head might be fixed by a trip to the minors, but he's been pitching like his arm is destined for Soylent Green. Later
  3. Wilmer, once he returns from minor league rehab. Later
  4. I hope Duda's MRI doesn't stand for "Met Requiring Incision". Later
  5. Trying "Tater". Later OE stayed as typed.

Chad Ochoseis wrote: Those stats aren't perfect, but it certainly looks like there's no meaningful relationship between how hard a player hits a ball and how productive of a hitter he is, If you're looking for an example of that, look at those seventeen hoppers that found holes in the infield off the bat of Derek Jeter. 7. Back to the topic of editing the quotes, isn't that what "sic" after the quote is for? Why don't they quote the words as spoken and use "sic"? It solves both problems - it shows the quote as spoken and also allows the editor to demonstrate that it is not grammatically correct. Or is it considered insulting if they do it that way? Later
  8. He's been "working on stuff" between starts and any results haven't been too obvious. I think he needs to do it somewhere else. I voted for two weeks in the minors. (hopefully, they're on a road trip- away from the bright lights of Vegas) Let him work on stuff (mechanics? grip? release point? whatever) away from the constant scrutiny of the New York media and gain back some confidence by getting some hitters out. 12. The face of the franchise is a grimace. As has been pointed out in a previous thread about his illness, it doesn't get better with time or treatment. Treatment and his pre-game regimen (have not seen any details other than it takes two hours to "get ready" for a game) can only serve to ease the pain. But I feel there will come a point that the pain is too great for him to continue to play, even occasionally. And I also feel at the end of the season he and the Mets will sit down and renegotiate his contract. He will retire and the terms of the new contract will have him stay on with the Mets in an advisory/ front office capacity and the remaining portion of his contract will be spread out over a long term (15-25 years?). A win-win-win. He retires gracefully, it frees up a lot of near term money for the Mets to use for other players and the fans get to see the face of the franchise from time to time. Later
  13. When I got home from work I checked the game log. Terry had Bastardo pitch to Werth while the game was still close? Hasn't he ever noticed how Werth f****ng kills the Mets, especially lefty pitching? The only good thing was that it stayed in the ballpark - it was only a double. Was there any discussion of this in either the tv or radio booth? Later
  14. Rafael Montero earned PCL Player of the Week honors after 13 Ks in 11.2 scoreless innings. Later

  17. The new board doesn't make a loss look any better. Later
  18. Bartolo tired himself out with all that running around the bases in the last game. When Gilmartin was brought up, he might have thought: "YAYYY! I'm being brought up. I'm getting away from those hitter friendly PCL ballparks. We're going to Colorado? CRAP!" He didn't think he would be pitching in LA. Good appearance for him. Later Later
