  2. I remember when he came up as a player with the Pirates, a good field/ no hit infielder. RIP. Later
  3. The prayers for rain were answered. Game called by umps. Soggy books. Mets win! Mets win! 6-3. Later
  4. I'm sure there must be a way for someone to eliminate the black space around this, but: http://www.dickiethon.com/forum2008/download/file.php?id=31997&mode=view Later
  5. I'm envious about that last one. When I visited San Juan, there was no game at Hi Bithorn Stadium that day, but I stopped by just to see the statue of Roberto Clemente. Stadia no longer there for me are YS, YS II, Polo Grounds, Ebbets Field, Shea Stadium, the Ted and RFK Stadium. At RFK, I saw Washington play the Minnesota Twins, which probably qualifies as some kind of incest. Places still in use are Citi, Fenway Park and Camden Yards. Later

  7. Sounds fishy to me.* Later * = Stop groaning! You knew it was coming. It was only a matter of time.
  8. Most of the ballparks I've visited aren't around any more. Later
  9. I'm gonna' turn off the game and just look at Blake Lively. Later
  10. Elia Kazan was a baseball fan? Interesting. Later

I saw a game at Turner Field. You got a great view of the Atlanta downtown from the upper deck. And, I was over 50 at the time and they carded me when I ordered a beer. Later
  12. I gave it 3 1/2 stars. Better than I thought it would be, but less than I had wanted it to be when I first saw it, mainly because of the pace. After the movie, I gave up mashed potatoes for baked. Later

  15. Frayed Knot wrote: I don't know, although it is a day ending in a Y and it has been nearly 24 hours since the last injury so, yeah, the odds are pretty good. I just got in and checked the box score, saw Reynolds in for Amed, and was going to ask the same thing. Any word about this yet? Later
  16. I missed the game, saw the box score this morning and wondered why he was removed from the game. You're right. It seems like every time he gets a chance to play for an extended period of time, something like this happens. In the old days, they used to say a player like that was "snake bit". Is that expression still used? If so, Wilmer should be its poster boy. Later
  17. Rhame and Callahan movin' on up. https://www.sny.tv/mets/news/relievers-rhame-callahan-among-mets-first-september-call-ups/251793922 Later

  19. Since I posted that, I heard a portion of Terry's presser and he had nothing but good things to say about Montero and (I paraphrase) said he'll be using him as a starter from now on. Nice to hear that he'll be giving him the chance to prove himself as a future member of the rotation. Later
  20. Memo to Terry, Rafael Montero is a STARTER! Stop using him out of the bullpen! Later
  21. We'll have a better idea when we know who the GM will be next year. Later
  22. Yeah, but he's my kid, so I get emotional. Later
  23. I'm not Ocorta any more. Kvelling for my kid. Later
  24. Edgy MD wrote: Come on! Should have pulled him after one baserunner. This. Now he can be the loser. Not really great for the guy's confidence (or record), Terry. Ocorta! ( IIRC, that's Japanese for pissed off. And I'm not Japanese, so that tells you how really pissed off I am.) Later
