  2. Benjamin Grimm wrote: I was thinking that he might have gotten the nickname of "P.J." because he wears distinctive pajamas, and that bacon outfit seems to be evidence that this is so. He should wear when he pitches, because things are always better with bacon. Later
  3. Frayed Knot wrote: Annnnnd the Yanquis come back to win, getting 3 in the 8th and 4 in the 9th via four XBHs from their final six batters of the game. I really hat baseball right about now. And YLDBs around the world are getting even more DB-ey. Later
  4. Centerfield wrote: Who fucking cares. They’re not going to score anyway. And if the were sent to Las Vegas, this bunch probably couldn't score at the Chicken Ranch. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chicken_Ranch_(Nevada) Later
  5. Rockin' Doc wrote: In the rare instances where our pitchers perform well, the offense invariably does little or nothing. That is one of the classic definitions of a bad team. Another is when the team scores a lot of runs, the pitchers give up more. At least those kinds of games can be exciting to watch. Later
  6. You don't like to see a player get hurt. But then there's THIS: https://www.yahoo.com/sports/yadier-molina-lives-every-catchers-worst-nightmare-foul-tip-102-mph-pitch-215841118.html Love ya', Yaddy. Later

When talking about him to non-Mets fans I know, I've been calling him "Future Yankee Matt Harvey" since 2015. Oh my GAWWD, Jonn. Matt Harvey is in the Owner's box. Later

Fman99 wrote: Steve Traschel came down to AAA and fixed it. I watched him throw a seven inning no hitter here in Syracuse. Good riddance to Harv, he doesn't want to fix it for this franchise, then hit the bricks. He didn't want to try to fix his problems in the minors. His ego is the only thing he has that is larger than his ERA. Bye! Later
  10. metirish wrote: To me he is done, I voted for released....not that I think it will happen but , can see him journeying around with the likes of Tamps Bay etc Don't forget Minnesota. Even Mike Pelfrey lasted three seasons with them. Later
  11. Benjamin Grimm wrote: He says that the Mets' reluctance to release Harvey is out of fear that the Yankees will pick him up and he'll be a star pitcher for them. Of course he would. They can score 15 runs a game to compensate for his suckitude. Later
  12. Dave Eiland, the "Pitching whisperer" should be screaming right about now. Later
  13. Lefty Specialist wrote: Braves kinda shoved that broom right up our..... ...rectum? Damn near killed 'im. Later
  14. Benjamin Grimm wrote: Hopefully Vargas reduces his ERA a little bit. He's going to have to have a 0.00 ERA today, because the Mets usually don't hit worth a crap against Teheran. Later
  15. I like the cover to be something (or someone) meaningful to that specific year. The 2011 cover is too generic. Later
  16. The last time I saw a pitcher named Newcomb(e) win a game, he was wearing a Brooklyn uniform. Sigh. Later
  17. Ceetar wrote: to be fair I don't think there's 100+ year old Met relics hiding in someone's storage unit Were you thinking of me when you wrote that? Later
  18. Please scratch me off the IGT list. Yikes! Later
  19. Hope I'm not breaking tradition. DeGrom vs Newcomb (LHP) The last guy named Newcomb(e) I saw pitch was was wearing a Brooklyn Dodger uniform. And that guy was a righty. LGM. Later

  21. Alonso went 1-4 tonight, dropping his season BA to .400. But the one hit was a home run. (His 8th of the season) He had 3 RBI. (He now has 22 RBI) Vasquez was not in tonight's lineup for Columbia. OE: Vasquez went 1 for 1 as a pinch hitter. Later

  23. Then I'll answer all 18 of them - one time, in an "official setting" - and get pissed if they ask me the same question again. Remember, the question is about when he'll be able to play. The answer is a date. You shouldn't have to explain or clarify a date. It is very specific. Anybody who has to ask a follow up question about a date isn't worth answering. They are either argumentative or stupid. Or both. Later
  24. When someone asks me a question, I answer it. If I don't have the answer, I tell them I'll let them know when I have the answer. If they ask me that same question again, I start to get irritated. If they ask me that same question again, I really get pissed off. I'd tell them the fact that you're asking me again doesn't change when I'll have the answer. Later
  25. Does that mean he gets two numbers in the Met count? (J/K) Later
