My kid is slashing .280/.311/.487 after 37 games. His 40 RBI lead the team, and his 7 HR tie for the team lead. He is overtaking the "hot prospect" Francisco Alvarez, with whom he shares the catching duties. Francisco is slashing .291/.395/.400 and has 2 HR and 11 RBI in 30 games. Later
I went to see them last week at Hartford. I wanted to see certain players: Andres Gimenez - he astounded in the field - three highlight reel plays, and got a it off a lefty pitcher throwing 94 mph heat(he's a lefty batter) Patrick Mazeika - he homered and had a nice swing. Tony Dibrell - he looked ok for four innings , then ran out of gas and got hammered. even though he was throwing harder. One-time hot prospect and 4th round pick David Thompson underwhelmed. Later
My favorite all-time Met. I am very sad today. This sentence from Greg's article says it all: “No one,” the Mets' 2018 media guide declared, “exemplifies the Mets organization more than Al Jackson.” RIP Later

And Forbes Field had a 365' left field line ( a fence put up 30 feet in front of the high scoreboard that was his original target. The fence was originally put up when the Pirates got slugger Hank Greenberg and was called Greenberg Gardens until he retired, then called Kiner's Corner.) and a 406' left center power alley. What an accomplishment! Later

Ali Sanchez is a prospect, and was hitting well at Binghamton. When he was promoted to Syracuse, I thought it was because Rene Rivera would be brought up to the majors. But they have kept the torrid Rivera at AAA and Sanchez on the bench. Later
