You can't be giving awards and retired numbers out everywhere you go. Jeez. Big moment in the season, captured on film, pretty unusual if not great headline. Easy choice
Yeah the gravity of the moment and the wordiness (and unnecessary logo) of the Snooze cover got me to support Newsday in this one. Not often for me, jack.
Played well enough to have made himself an option for a shitty team that might need a starter; I figure that's why he hasn't re-upped yet cuz if it were up to the Mets they'd take OMG

I have told the story before and must once more. My Dad took Bernie Sanders & I to Shea in '83 and for the first time in my life we got front-row yellow seats (field level in shallow right field). Sitting behind us that night was an Irish guy obviously watching his first baseball game ever, and we're helping his companion explain what he's seeing. At one point he asks if it were possible to get a home run without hitting it over the fence and we all assured him it's possible but never happens. Then sure as shit Mark Bradley bloops one near us--it's too shallow for Mike Marshall to catch and he awkwardly charges it but the ball goes behind him into the corner. Inside the park HR for Mark Bradley (starting for Strawberry who sits against Fernando Valenzuela).
I wrote an email to Randle to ask about his nui number and he replied in ALL CAPS NUMBER 11 WAS FOR 1 GOD IN MY LIFE AND FOR BILLY MARTIN WHO WAS MY MENTOR IN BASEBALL... Here's his awesome recording (d'oh missed smg's post above):
Lynette is a total smokehouse. But it was only a few months later that Gaspar met his wife ( introduced by Danny Frisella, according to his bio). Where is Lynnette today?
