    I admired watching Leiter pitch too. The topic of his getting into 3 ball counts with every hitter was something we used to argue about here. I can be surprised by anything today. I'm as much about watching baseball for the physical things they do than the results of them these days. There are guys whose aesthetics and body language I like more than others

    For what purpose? Hockey does it becasue (I think) they're the guys who are allowed to talk to officials whereas anyone in baseball can have a word with the umpire

    I've never gone to WAR either. I don't feel like I'm missing all that much. OPS is a rough enough offensive figure for me (I don't need precision) and my proprietary Eyewitness Defense is underrated.

    As I recall it this show got worse as it went on. I wanted it to be a workplace show and they spent so much time at Don's house I got sick of it and dropped out at some point.

    78th Precinct Youth Sports League product, like Lunchpail and Sharpie Jr. His inability to hold runners on made every mistake hurt that much more, and after a while it seemed it was difficult to count on consecutive good outings from him. I don't recall if he made it to the postseason. Thoughtful guy in interviews, never mailed it in. I'm sure the Puma will miss him.

    Crazy that Post has yet to win one--and that Newsday won so many. As institutions go I would guess the Post is the healthiest of them today.
