  1. Lagares comes back to life today. Given how Gomez has hit the last week, prolly not a bad idea. The Frazier hit was the worst struck ball of the inning. Conforto's force-play the best
  2. Frazier denied the opportunity to ground into a DP with the Conforto steal, instead hits an ugly 2 run kaboomy
  3. Mickey for Manager of the Year
  4. Tight Mickey calls for a pinch-bunter then a pinch hitter
  5. Hey guys! 1st and 2nd with nobody out!
  6. Fraze did all he could to hit into an inning ending DP but Mickey had to ruin it by running Conforto
  7. Their failure to make hay of 1st and 2nd, none out scenarios was pretty costly on Tuesday too
  8. Have you guys noticed the weird pattern the Mets are cutting the grass in this year? Some cuts seem to head toward the fences then fan out toward the lines, giving it a swirly look in the corners? At the game the other night which we watched from the 400s 1st base side, definitely made the field look almost as though it went downhill at the corners spread out all weird and uglylike. I just caught a glimpse again on the TV and had the same impression. Hard to think as well as groundskeepers must know about grass cutting that this isn't planned but perhaps, concieved better than executed. Am I the only one to notice this?
  9. Forgot this was on. Dom Smith bunt single to shift
  10. Tips hat to Vargas and his curly wet look
  11. Couple more interesting guys they drafted today. A 6-foot-9 pitcher out of Oklahoma high school, Jace Beck; and a 6-foot-7 pitcher from Stetson, Mitchell Senger, whose numbers really suck--these are the intriguing ones! They also dipped into the undrafted college wannabe ranks taking 34th ranked high school lefty Hunter Barco with the 718th pick. Then there's the interestingly named Antoine Duplantis, an outfielder from LSU who has a sense of humor (his teammate was a MFY pick): Antoine who goes by Twanie, has a brother named Armond, who goes as Mondo, who is also a top NCAA pole vaulter. http://www.lsusports.net/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=5200&ATCLID=211804244http://www.lsusports.net/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=5200&ATCLID=211804244
  12. It really launched a new era of stupidity for the Mets didn't it? I guess that's the part I overlooked.
  13. The Syndergaard change made no sense to us sitting in the stands either, didn't realize there was a controversy about it but if there is he's gotta go. This is twice in a week he's screwed over starters against their wishes while doing something strategically unsound. Beyond that the team just doesn't look good. Defensively weak, very poor execution (2 on non out in the first and second innings and zip). Tightness up the wazoo, probably because there's a palpable sense that the end of Callaway and the Mets season, is near. Jay Bruce btw had like 16 RBIs last night for the Phils
  14. Not hitting pitching or fielding well. Or managing.
  15. Kent State lefty Connor Wollersheim is here, as is Joe Genord, 1B for Greg W Prince U.
  16. Luke Ritter, Wichita State Shocker, come on down. Senior second baseman, hit .333 with 9 homers and 2nd all-time in career hit by pitches.
  17. Zach Ashford, CF, Fresno State, also a senior
  18. I thought it was gonna be Cano coming back and McNeil still on the way, not that I'm complaining
  19. 5th round: Nathan Jones, RHP, Northwestern State (LA) senior
  20. Yes, you wanna think they had deals worked out with these kids or at least understood what they'd cost going in, and now can stop trying in the draft by getting only senior relief pitchers
  21. Round 3: Matthew Allen, RHP Seminole HS Florida. "front line starter potential" but needs to be convin$ed to skip college. Round 4: Jake Magnum, CF, Mississippi State (is that where the CPF's own Farmer Ted works now?) --Mets previously drafted Magnum last year but he returned for his senior year. Switch hitter with speed no power or walks
  22. Lefty Specialist wrote: Maybe the Mets can trademark "Tom Brady is an Asshole." yes
