I hardly ever go to the movies anymore but I do like movies. But we just moved within walking distance of a googleplex and we're considering buying a pass, at least for the 'Pail. Unlimited flix,10% discount on concessions with the app for $18 a month. That would pay for itself with 2 visits a month. Wouldya? Apropos of the subject I also like old movies. When you see one, especially a good one, even if its old, start a poll on it here.

Thankful for Tuesday nights, and meaningful games in September

Pirates hire Met reject Derek Shelton

I could see it. Shinjo, how do you say this, looks like a woman now

Even as a Stones album, black and blue don't really mix.

These are fun

Hate the swoosh but we all do. Otherwise a fine baby blue jersey. Folks are coming in their knickers over the Brewers' new unis but I never much loved the ball-in-glove logo that they're built around. I do think it's its an overall handsome set and improvement from the Miller Beer Era golden and green bullshit they tried to get out there. I am also into the Padres return to brown-- pretty well done. Paul did a good Q-and-A with a Padres' exec who laid out a pretty refreshing take on it: They did it for the right reasons, it was designed in house, and to the extent fans wanted brown to come back, it wasn't the only thing they wanted and navigating that was tricky but in the end pretty well done. It'd be just like the Mets to try and win social media by returning to black just because Marcus Stroman tweeted it. Stroman is already emerging as an interesting character in Mets uni history (he'll be the first AND SECOND) pitcher to wear a single digit uni number but not sure his taste is perfect, inadvertently forcing No. 7 into at least a temporary mothballing and now advocating from a return of fugly, badly executed black look the Mets did for all the wrong reasons

Well as you know, my favorite 2018 Met was a "ty" between Robert Gsellman and Ty Kelly, so I'll take em both

I'm into the 2018 set even more than Batman 2019 cards, I think. Signed, Roger Kaputnik

That ad copy is pretty remarkable

geez.

Dick Selma was Keith's drinking teacher

Yeah Hubie isn't much of an interview.

Ronnie

Pete Falcone? Did they room pitchers and infielders together?

Now I'm racking my brain for Met-Cardinals of the 1970s. Mike Phillips? And Jack Heidemann but he was a MLB guy in the late 60s.

It's been more than a year for me too. Was it Mike Jorgensen?

Mets ink x-MFY (also Brave and most recently a Cardinal) Chasen Shreve to a MiLB deal. Beanpole build lefty; but no real split differences over his career. Decent K numbers, too many walks, bbbyyy

SYNBAD! got jobbed. I know we agreed that "Syn" isn't a great nickname, but the combo with "bad" makes it appropriately clever. The picture tells the story as does the Starburst stat box out of a grocery circular.

I was a not-so-secret Drew Gagnon fan. His work was pretty inconsistent, and he didn't have the most talent out there, but I feel like he could have been effective in small doses. I seem to recall he made his debut for the Tuesday Night Mets Club, left in there a batter or two too long.

Zimmo No wait, Rosario Zimmo AND Rosario. And d'Arnaud
