    It's the 8th inning and SNY is treating the game like it's Spring Training. Pathetic. --------- Gary: "the replay coordinator missed it." OR, perhaps the umpire could have done his job and gotten the call right as he is paid to do. about this - this comes back to where I am with video review - it should only be called by the players and they should have 10 seconds after time to tell the umpire to review it. this kind of play is exactly the kind of thing that review is to solve - not the ones where there's the infinitesimal gap between glove and ball/foot and base - the fielder (Alonso) knew he had the out - he'd have called a review if he could have...     Not 4 nothing but Alcantara is probably the best pitcher in the game, we fought like hell and had him beat, so it was especially weak sauce for Bassitt and Lugo to immediately cough it up the way they did. This was like the reverse Nieuwenhuis Father's Day.

    Enjoyed hearing Maz in this series, even though he's hard to hear and frequently talks over Howie. They were talking about Brian Giles committing the sin of fraternizing with the opposition back in the day, and Howie lets out that John Stearns once called Giles a "Jive Turkey" during a live on-air interview.

    Walker is something else today. I always conflate the Snap with C+C Music Factory and know Freedom Williams sang in one of their songs but couldn't tell you which song, or with which group ... that said, I know the song, whatever it is, by heart

    I don't mean to intervene in this discussion-- I don't think I have an especially strong opinion -- but Dinos quote clearly states "way ahead" and your rebuttal moves the goalposts,basically onto a squash court.

    I received this personal invitation from the Mets a little while ago... Have Lunch with Todd Zeile Tomorrow! ...though I'm guessing it's not all that personal, since it involves buying a ticket. Definitely not as 1-to-1 as pen-palling with Brian Ostrosser. Reminds me I've been meaning to post about my phone conversation the other day with Max, my "personal point of contact with the Mets." Long story tho
